System: Switch
Release date: August 29, 2017
Developer: Ubisoft
Publisher: Ubisoft

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger turnabout regarding the reception of a game than I have with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. When the first major leak regarding Ubisoft’s newest Nintendo crossover game happened, the general reaction was one of confusion and general displeasure. That was the case up until Ubisoft’s E3 2017 press conference in June, where Mario + Rabbids was finally unveiled in full with the help of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto himself. That, compounded with a truly heartwarming moment from the game’s creative director Davide Soliani and the overall presentation of the game, quickly garnered new feelings of excitement and hope that Mario + Rabbids was something to look forward to. So, after months of anticipation, is Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle able to keep that feeling of hope and excitement alive, or does it leave us wishing the Rabbids would have just stayed home?

Nintendo has been on a roll with ARMS rankings as of late. Within the past week, we’ve heard about fighters who have been used the most and characters who have the highest win rates.

Nintendo’s latest rankings are based on the top 3 percent of super skilled players. Determined by win rate, first place is awarded to Max Brass, the (current) newest character on the ARMS roster. Helix is second, and Byte & Barq followed in third place.

It’s interesting to see the fighters advanced players use. It sounds like if you want to be at the top, Max Brass might be your best bet.

Gamescom 2017 outperformed last year’s show in several ways. Among these is attendance, as 350,000 visitors showed up for the big expo last week. Gamescom 2016 was attended by 345,000 people.

Here’s a breakdown of some key stats:

Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase is currently on track to launch in North America in September. While Dispatch Games hasn’t made it known officially, we’d be stunned if that window wasn’t met.

First, Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase is listed for September 20 on the eShop. Other retailers like Best Buy and GameStop list it for September 26. The same goes for GameFly, which is often spot on with its listings.
