This information comes from Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime…
“We want every high-quality game to have an opportunity to be played on Nintendo Switch,” Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s president and chief operating officer told IGN in an interview at E3 2017. “Every single one. Fill in the blank of third-party, high-quality game really wanted on Nintendo Switch; the answer is yes.”
“We’ve been very thoughtful in making sure we have a strong cadence of launches that are going to keep our fans engaged, going to drive hardware, and continue to propel us forward. And certainly as we think back to Wii U, that’s one of the things that we didn’t do as effectively.”

On how Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is related to the original…
“It’s a completely different world, with completely new characters. It’s a different game.”
“The way I see it. I feel as though Xenoblade 1 and 2 are connected and linked in the sense that they’re linear and story-driven games, whereas Xenoblade Chronicles X was more focused on open world and exploration, and maybe an online aspect. I feel like I’d like to continue to create games separating those two aspects out.”

Nintendo’s activities at today’s E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles included the announcement of a remake of a classic Mario & Luigi game and the crowning of the winning team in the 2017 Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational.
Following a morning packed with new announcements, the Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3 show included in-depth play-throughs of a variety of games for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS systems. During the show, Nintendo announced that an updated version of the first game in the Mario & Luigi series was in development for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions contains all the fun gameplay and dialogue of the Game Boy Advance original, as well as an optional Easy mode for younger or more inexperienced players.
GungHo Online Entertainment was included in Nintendo’s lineup of Switch developers a few months ago. Now we can officially say that the company has a project in the works, and it sounds pretty mysterious.
GungHo Online Entertainment CEO Kazuki Morishita told Destructoid that the game will be an “action game for all ages with a lighter, comical tone.” We can also say that it’s a new IP with original gameplay. Morishita teased, “No direct comparison exists. It’s a gameplay style that has not been seen before.”
Whatever GungHo is planning, single-player and multiplayer components are planned. They’ve been kicking around the idea for about “4-5 years” before it came to be as it currently is.
