Nintendo UK recently held a Twitter poll to determine the best track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It was ultimately Rainbow Road which was selected first, followed by Hyrule Circuit, Mount Wario, and Bowser’s Castle.
Following the results, Nintendo UK spoke with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe producer Kosuke Yabuki. The developer talked about how the team went about creation the course,
First, when asked about what he’s most proud about in terms of the design, Yabuki said:
Elliot Quest landed on Wii U quite a long time ago, but now it’s coming to new platforms – including 3DS. A new “console” trailer was prepared to promote the upcoming release. Check it out below.
Update: We’ve received an official announcement from Drool now. It’s looking like May 18 will apply to both North America and Europe.
Original: The European Switch eShop has updated with a listing for another significant title. It seems that Thumper is just around the corner, as it’s listed for May 18. The game will cost €19.99 / £15.99.
Here’s an overview:
“Thumper is rhythm violence: classic rhythm-action, blistering speed, and brutal physicality. You are a space beetle. Brave the hellish void and confront a maniacal giant head from the future.
Scream down the endless track and crash through punishing obstacles with simple, airtight controls. Hurtle forward, master new moves, reach overwhelming velocities, and survive epic boss battles. Every crushing impact is interwoven with a pounding original soundtrack. To reach synthetic bliss, you must conquer rhythm hell.”
Most games tend to hit the North American and European Switch eShops at the same time. We don’t have a confirmed release date for the states currently, but a May 18 launch is likely as well.
Today, Climax Studios posted the image you see above on their Twitter account, apparently confirming that their game Riftstar Raiders is coming to Switch. Riftstar Raiders is a 2D shoot’em’up game with a heavy emphasis on customization. It also features four player co-op gameplay.
We don’t have any more concrete details on the Switch version at the moment, such as a release date, but hopefully we’ll soon hear more from Climax Studios.
Blaster Master Zero has received a brand new Destroyer Mode with its new 1.2 version. This super difficulty level can be accessed after clearing the main game. For a look at the new mode, watch the video below.
Yacht Club Games published more images from the upcoming Shovel Knight: Official Design Works book. Find the latest previews below.
Shovel Knight: Official Design Works includes character art, developer commentary, rough illustrations and concept art, background development images, comprehensive sprite sheets, full-page promotional illustrations, and an exclusive interview with the team. It goes on sale sometime in August.
The Japanese Twitter account for ARMS once again has an update on the Switch game. A couple of tweets were sent out pertaining to Spring Man.
First up is the lovely piece of art attached above. Slightly less exciting is the very brief clip below, but is still worth giving a look in any case.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is just a little ways off from making its debut in the west. That means the full site is now open, and you can access it here.
Probably the most noteworthy section of the site is the DLC page. It has information about the individual pieces of content included in the upcoming DLC packs.
