The latest entry in the Puyo Puyo series, Puyo Puyo Chronicle, was recently announced in Japan. Today, SEGA published some details on the game’s story and characters.
Arle and Carbunble’s day-to-day life in Primp Town is suddenly interrupted when a mysterious book falls from the sky that transports the two of them to a strange new world. Together with a girl called Allie, Arle and Carbuncle go on a journey through that new world to find a way back to their own.
Allie calls Arle a hero – the reason for that is that a prophecy exists in that world which speaks of a girl with a ponytail wearing a white and blue-colored outfit, accompanied by a yellow creature who one day arrive from another world to save this one. Of course, this pretty much exactly applies to Arle and Carbuncle.
On their journey, the three of them venture into a place called Grimp Forest where there is supposedly a girl wearing a Puyo on her head. That girl turns out to be Amitie – who, like Arle and Carbuncle, is from Primp Town and who is not supposed to be in this strange new world. Draco Centaur, Arle’s rival, is also encountered by the group and joins them after being defeated – it seems like there are several familiar faces in this new world.

Ahead of its release on October 8th, Capcom shared some more details about Monster Hunter Stories via 4Gamer.
The new Homing feature makes it easier for you to get the specific kind of monster egg you want. After you defeat a monster in battle, the location of its nest is then marked on your map, allowing you to go there and nab its egg. Thanks to the Homing feature, the egg that you get will always be the same as the kind of monster you fought. Not only that, but the monster will always be sleeping when you approach its nest that way, which makes getting eggs way easier. However, Homing doesn’t always happen – you need to fulfill certain conditions in combat to trigger this feature, which vary from monster to monster. That said, there is an item called a Paint Ball that will increase the chances of Homing activating if you use it during battle and defeat the monster in 3 turns.
Speaking of battle, there are some special events that can happen during combat when similar types of monsters face off. When two flying monsters face off, they sometimes take to the air and you have to press the L and R buttons to control your monster. Similarly, if two monsters meet on the ground, you have to mash the A button to overpower the opposing monster. Finally, when two monsters both use their breath attacks, you have to move the Circle Pad in a circular motion to prevail against your opponent.
4Gamer also published some new screenshots. Check them out:
With the release of Monster Hunter Stories just a couple of days away in Japan, Capcom has started a new video series called The World of Monster Hunter Stories in which Lilia, the childhood friend of the main character, introduces various gameplay features. In the first episode, she talks about Otomon eggs, which you have to steal from monsters and then bring back to the village to hatch them.
It’s time, yet again, for Pokemon Shuffle’s update. This update adds more Mission Cards (#14-16) to the game. The temporary Special stages feature brand-new levels for Togekiss (Winking) and Feraligatr have begun, as well as repeats for Palkia, Bellossom, and Kabutops, all running until October 18. A repeat run of Thundurus Incarnate has also begun, which can be played once a day until October 11.
Finally, next week’s update will bring the next Mega Competition: Mega Pidgeot. If you want to be one of the very best and get your hands on some Pidgeotite, better start training!
This past weekend, Nintendo hosted a special 30th anniversary Zelda concert in Kyoto, Japan. It was a big event as key staff involved with the series were present – Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, Takashi Tezuka, and Koji Kondo. Famitsu shared an in-depth report of what occurred and what was said.
Voice actress Ruriko Aoki hosted the concert. She was actually planning on buying a ticket for the event in Nagoya, and even asked her agency to free up her schedule. However, she was eventually told that she got the job for this concert. Series producer Eiji Aonuma also appeared and introduced Aoki. The two showed up together during a Niconico Majora’s Mask 3D live stream last year, and since she’s a big fan of Zelda, he asked her to be the MC.
