Gray Fin Studios pushed out Dual Core’s first update in North America today. The patch adds off-TV play, new character upgrade options (speed/agility can now be upgraded), and fixes a number of bugs.

Those in Europe have had access to the first update since launch, as it was built in from the start.

Gray Fin Studios says that the second Dual Core update is already in the works as well.

Splatoon received a new update earlier this week. Perhaps as an unforeseen side effect, a significant glitch has been spotted by the community.

The glitch in question involves players becoming invisible, and they appear to be ascending to heaven on the kill cam. It happens after superjumping right before you hit water or an area out of bounds. You’ll be invisible to teammates as well as enemies starting with the superjump enemies, and your squid icon will be off the GamePad to teammates.

As for the kill cam, it’s shown in a certain way because you’re stuck in superjump animation to everyone else. Shots don’t do damage, but reports say that bombs are effective.

This video shows how chaotic things can become when both teams become invisible:

Toon Tanks originally appeared on the North American Wii U eShop at the end of 2014, but it hasn’t yet made its way to Europe. That’ll finally be changing later this month. A listing on the eShop pins down Toon Tanks’ European release for July 21. It’ll be priced at €1.99.

Remember The Girl and the Robot? Flying Carpets Games funded the project through Kickstarter back in 2013, and a Wii U version was guaranteed. Although things have been relatively quiet surrounding it, the title has still been in the works and is now nearing completion.

Flying Carpets Games posted on Kickstarter today that The Girl and the Robot will be debuting on Steam later this summer. Consoles will come later in the year, including Wii U.

Today’s news was also accompanied by the following new trailer:

Pokemon GO launched this week in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Other territories such as Europe and Canada are also going soon.

To play Pokemon GO, you naturally need a mobile phone – either Android or iOS. The game’s support site breaks things down further in terms of supported devices.

That’s as follows:

Android

Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1
(Android N will not supported until the official Android release)
Preferred resolution of 720×1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
GPS and Location Services
Intel CPUs are not supported

iOS

iPhone 5+
iOS 8+
Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
GPS and Location Services
Jailbroken devices are not supported

On another note, we’re aware that there may be intermittent issues connecting to Pokemon GO’s servers. That was to be somewhat expected given the large influx of users to start out with. Hopefully things will be a bit smoother in the days ahead!

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

In E3 interviews, Paper Mario: Color Splash producer Risa Tabata has stressed the importance of story in this new title. That’s something Intelligent Systems is focusing on quite a bit, including the humor. Tabata also told Eurogamer that once you’ve completed the story, “you’ll probably cry.”

Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll made it out to the North American Wii U Virtual Console today. Find 30 minutes of footage below.

Rain Games on the reception of Teslagrad as part of an interview with Nintendo-Okie. According to the developer, they’re “very happy with Teslagrad‘s performance, the vast majority of reviews were very positive and the audience reception has been great.” It was also mentioned that the game is sitting at roughly 1.6 million copies in total, and it “sold surprisingly well” on Wii U “considering the smaller install base”.

Next up for Rain Games is the company’s brand new project World to the West. Regarding potential platforms, the studio would only tease the following:

We’re definitely aiming for a multi-platform release and it will definitely be released in the future- We’re keeping a bit mum on the subject of which platforms it will launch on first- there’s some new hardware coming up, too, so that’s exciting. who knows, maybe it’ll even release on that (sly look)

Data from industry-tracking intelligence firm Sensor Tower sent to GamesBeat indicates that Pokemon GO is currently the top-downloaded app on iPhone in the United States. It managed to reach that spot in less than five hours. Interestingly, that’s one-third of the time it took for the mobile hit Clash Royale to reach the same spot earlier this year.

Sensor Tower also says that Pokemon GO is already the fifth top-grossing iPhone app while outgrossing the Clash Royale and Clash of Clans games. Also, to compare, Miitomo’s highest position was 73 on iPhone’s top-grossing chart.

Pokemon GO is also available in Australia and New Zealand. The app is sitting at the top spot for both downloads and revenue in both countries, for those wondering.
