Several new games out came out this week on the Wii U and 3DS eShops. If you’re interested in checking out what’s new in screenshot form, take a peak at the gallery below.

Nintendo has been regularly adding new content to Splatoon, and today is no different. Two new weapons are now available in the game. Players can get their hands on the N-ZAP ’89 in addition to the Octobrush.

Here’s the overview of the N-ZAP ’89:

Ah yes, the N-ZAP ’89. This is quite simply an N-ZAP ’85 that was redesigned for… well, definitely not legal reasons. No siree. Nothing to see here. Lawyers definitely did not have anything to do with this. It includes a Sprinkler to rapidly increase your turf, allowing you to fire off remarkably fast Inkstrikes! This set is excellent at striking where the foe least expects it. Good for lone wolves and those nostalgic for the good ol’ days!

And the Octobrush:

Need a brush that packs a powerful punch? The Octobrush is a brush with denser bristles that fling even more ink with each swipe! Use that mobility to scatter Squid Beakons everywhere, giving your whole team free rein of the battlefield! No need to hesitate—you can always use the Kraken to run away in a pinch. Your team will love you!

Footage of today’s weapons can be seen below.

Square Enix prepared a second trailer for Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS. You can watch it if you’re in Japan. If you’re not, you’ll need to enter this URL on this page.

Square Enix naturally had to make things difficult. They’ve limited the trailer’s availability to those who reside in Japan. If you use that proxy link though, everything should be okay!

Genyo Takeda. Nintendo’s senior managing director and current co-representative director, delivered a memorial address for Satoru Iwata during funeral services held this week. Nintendo has since released the transcript in full. We’ve posted it below.

As we gather here today for a joint funeral with Nintendo Co., Ltd. and Mr. Iwata’s family, I would like to share my heartfelt condolences. President Iwata, allow me to call you Iwata-san, just as I always used to.

Iwata-san, you left us far too soon. Having just chaired our shareholders’ meeting the other day on June 26, the news of your sudden death has left all the employees overcome with a deep sorrow. The late Yamauchi-san passed the baton to you in naming you the president of Nintendo in 2002, and the two Senior Managing Directors of the company, Shigeru Miyamoto and I, have been assisting and working alongside you. Being rather short-tempered myself, the thing that I am most deeply struck by is that you were a true leader in every sense of the word, overflowing with compassion for people. You always maintained a two-way dialogue, even with the next generation of employees, or with much younger members of the development and marketing teams, or with employees outside of Japan whose different customs and cultures can make communication challenging — sometimes even admitting your own mistakes to them. You demonstrated this through your belief that people could eventually come to understand one another, and your strong conviction that the best way for us to grow is through patient communication, even if it took several times, a dozen times or even seemingly endless discussion.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures 2 was announced earlier today. While there’s still not much information out there, we do have a few tidbits.

It’s now officially confirmed that Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures 2 will be on Nintendo platforms. The game is being made in Unity, and it will have a bunch of new elements.

FreakZone Games, developer of the first title, also said that it was worth the cost bringing it to Nintendo systems.

The latest addition to Nintendo’s North American YouTube account is a cosplay choir. Nintendo had a bunch of people from San Diego Comic-Con – including the voice of Mario – participate in the video, which has cosplayers singing the Super Mario Bros. tune. Check it out below.

Disney Interactive is teasing Ant-Man for Disney Infinity 3.0. On its social media pages, the above image has been posted. It’s a clear sign that Ant-Man is coming to the game.

The only question is how Ant-Man will be represented in Disney Infinity 3.0. A figure would make sense, but a Power Disc is another possibility.

Capcom will be giving those who own Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in Japan a little “something” as a bonus in Monster Hunter X. That’s according to series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, who shared the information with Famitsu.

There’s also something planned for Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village DX. By having save data on your 3DS, you’ll be given something that’s “a little better than from 4 Ultimate,” but only a little.

Capcom isn’t sharing details beyond this at present. These bonuses will be just enough for one to think “that would be nice to have”.
