While Splatoon’s Splatfest had its debut in the rest of the world this weekend, Japan already had its second one. The results are now in – Red Kitsune instant noodles won, Green Tanuki lost. Even though Team Green Tanuki won 53% of its matches, this wasn’t enough to offset the 67% who picked Red Kitsune as their team.

A Western release of Dragon Quest VIII on the 3DS seems fairly likely by now, but nothing is confirmed quite yet. Japanese gamers, meanwhile, can look forward to playing the game quite soon. Square Enix announced today that first-print copies of the game will include a download code (valid until September 30th) for Erdrick’s Sword. Erdrick is a legendary hero mentioned through the series, especially in the earlier games.
