[Preview] Fae Farm – A first look at Phoenix Labs’ enchanting life sim

Phoenix Labs recently hosted a preview event for their upcoming Switch-exclusive Fae Farm. As only the second game from the developer, it takes a drastically different approach than the team’s first hack-and-slash monster slayer Dauntless. Coming from frantic combat and vicious creatures, Phoenix Labs instead chose a more relaxing and winding experience. Aiming for “cozy,” the mark has been hit fairly well, as upon joining the event I saw the players simply wandering their farm and watching butterflies meander along the fields.

The choice for many will likely be The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Still, it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and there are other games to look forward to. Third-parties will chip in with titles like Octopath Traveler II, Atelier Ryza 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, Digimon World: Next Order, and Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection – just to name a few.

[Review] Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion
Posted on 1 year ago by Nicholas Serpa in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release Date: December 13, 2022
Developer: Square Enix / Tose
Publisher: Square Enix
In the 25 years since Final Fantasy VII originally graced PlayStations around the world, this monumental RPG has amassed a legacy that few other games have, and has fittingly been rereleased on a wide range of platforms; it is still, even today, the best-selling entry in the Final Fantasy series of all time. The same can’t quite be said for its many spin-offs, which have typically been trapped on their original systems, but that changes with the launch of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Once a PSP-exclusive, this action-combat title serves as a comprehensive prequel to the events of the original game, and its remastered version attempts to bring the visuals closer to the style of the recent Final Fantasy VII Remake. But how does this enhanced version of a 15-year-old game hold up on Switch?

2022 is just about over – aside from a couple of more weeks. But with the year drawing to a close, we’re interested in hearing about what your favorite game that released over the past twelve months.
Despite being in its fifth year, Switch still had much to offer. Looking strictly at what we saw from Nintendo, the company published Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Triangle Strategy, Nintendo Switch Sports, Kirby’s Dream Buffet, Mario Strikers: Battle League, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Live A Live, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, and Pokemon Scarlet / Violet. Third-parties filled in with titles such as Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Digimon Survive, Shovel Knight Dig, Tinykin, Tunic, AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative, Sonic Frontiers, and Dragon Quest Treasures. We’d also be remiss if we didn’t mention ports such as Persona 5, NieR: Automata, Portal, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
So what was your favorite game that came out in 2022? Let us know in the comments below.
