Pokken Tournament version 1.2 not letting North American players game online worldwide
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 7 Comments
Pokken Tournament version 1.2 is currently making it impossible for those in North America to play with others outside of the region. These users are not getting matched is because Shadow Mewtwo’s light pillar in field phase operates differently compared to the rest of the world. Since there are two versions of Shadow Mewtwo, the North American servers are unable to handle the conflicting data.
We’ll keep tabs on the situation. If the situation is fixed, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Rumor: Splatoon and Super Mario Maker NX ports a possibility, more Zelda and Smash Bros. talk
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 100 Comments
Update: Going to leave this here rather than making a new post. NeoGAF’s 10k has posted more rumors about the NX (thanks Yolkghost). They’ve been verified by a moderator supposedly, but that doesn’t make them true necessarily. In any case, read the rumors here if you’re interested.
New tweets from Emily Rogers indicate that four Wii U ports are currently in development for NX. We’ve already heard plenty of speculation about the new Zelda as well as some talk about Smash Bros. However, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon could hit the new system, too. But Rogers cautions:
“Just because something is in development doesn’t mean it’ll be released. So either all four of these ports will come…or only two of them.”
Emily says that Zelda and Smash Bros. “sound like guarantees” after speaking “with at least 10 people regarding these four ports.” Splatoon is said to be “up in the air.”

Miitomo stats: 4 million monthly active users, $280,000 per week, more
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 41 Comments
SurveyMonkey has an early analysis of Miitomo. Thus far, the site says the app has been “crushing it” and is “a hit”.
Miitomo saw 2.6 million downloads last week, according to SurveyMonkey’s data. It received an average of 370,000 daily downloads. About two-thirds of that amount were on iOS with the remaining third on Android.
SurveyMonkey’s report goes on to say that “Miitomo currently has 4 million monthly active users” as well as “about 1 million daily active users.” Users tend to check in for two to three sessions each day for a total of 7-8 minutes.
Finally, Survey Monkey shares the following regarding Miitomo’s revenue:
Making it rain – $280,000 per week
Monetization has also increased steadily and we estimate that the game is now making $40,000 combined per day across iOS and Android. Roughly 80% of the revenue is from iOS with Android only contributing 20%.On a per-user basis, we estimate the app has an ARPDAU (Average Revenue Per Daily Active User) of 3-4 cents. While low compared to mid-core games like Supercell’s Clash Royale, this is actually a healthy number for a more casual game like Miitomo, especially early on.

Update: Final two – Nintendo showcases Splatoon’s new Soda Slosher and Bamboozler 14 Mk III weapons
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Update: Bumped to the top. Final two weapons are below.
Refurbished Mini Splatling
No prawn shop jokes please! The Refurbished Mini Splatling is made from the remains of a tragically destroyed Mini Splatling…It features Burst Bombs as the sub weapon and packs a Bomb Rush as its special. That’s a lot of inkage happening in a hurry! Sheldon recommends this one for splatters who wanna leave everyone and everything in sight dripping with ink!
Tempered Dynamo Roller
Meet the Tempered Dynamo Roller. This heavy-weight roller gained mobility to quickly run up to the front lines by adding the Seeker as a sub weapon. The quiet but tasteful color tone might lull your opponents into a sense of security before BAM! Killer Wail! Pile on the pressure!
Nintendo has highlighted two more upcoming Splatoon inclusions from Sheldon’s Picks Vol. 1, a set of eight weapons being added to the game tomorrow evening.
Here’s the rundown on the Soda Slosher and Bamboozler 14 Mk III:
Soda Slosher
The Soda Slosher is based on a regular ol’ Slosher, but with some adjustments to the setup. Splat Bombs support the basic strategy, and the addition of the Inkzooka provides ranged power lacking in other models. And the bucket colors are pretty sweet too. Just sayin’.
Bamboozler 14 Mk III
According to Sheldon, this set REDEFINES what it means to be a Bamboozler! Do you think you’re ready? The Bamboozler 14 Mk III takes the Mk I and swaps out the barrel for a different bamboo pipe. This set’s selling point is how the main weapon and the Burst Bombs can really hammer your opponent! That’s not to mention the Inkstrike, which can make life difficult for even far-off enemies.
Screenshots of the Soda Slosher and Bamboozler 14 Mk III are posted below. Details and screenshots for four other weapons are located here, along with the Splatoon version 2.7.0 patch notes.

Star Fox Zero credits pay tribute to Satoru Iwata
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 19 Comments
It’s not often that we post credits from games. However, there’s a particularly touching inclusion within Star Fox Zero’s staff roll, which we felt was worth sharing.
About halfway through the credits, the following line pops up: “This game is dedicated to our wingman who fell in battle.” It’s a clear nod to late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who passed away last year.
Head past the break for the video with the full credits if you’re interested in doing so ahead of launch! It naturally contains a few final scenes from the game.
