There hasn’t been much news about the Wii U version of Project CARS, but it’s fortunately still on track. Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed plans to release the game in fall 2014.

Studio head Ian Bell said:

“Project CARS has always led the pack in terms of insane detail. Whether that’s graphically in the craftsmanship of our cars and tracks, technically in the way we’ve approached weather and time of day, or emotionally in how each car feels and responds to your touch. These powerful new platforms allow us therefore to not compromise on the quality of our vision and ultimately that means players are going to experience something truly breathtaking when they get behind the wheel.”

Destructoid recently had the chance to speak with the Super Mario 3D World composers – specifically Mahito Yokota and Koji Kondo. You can check out their responses after the break. Also be sure to check out Destructoid’s full article here.

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:

Link’s downward strike was designed to change to a Meteor Smash when the tip of the sword is aligned just right at the start. However, it will be removed if it’s deemed too powerful overall after some multiplayer play tests.

Nintendo has disabled all SpotPass features within Swapnote. Why? Based on a report from a pair of Japanese newspapers, Nintendo made the move following some disturbing incidents.

Child pornography charges have been filed against a 44 year-old man who apparently sent nude photos through Swapnote to two girls aged 11 and 12. The acts have already been confessed to.

Two other men, aged 49 and 36, have also been arrested for allegedly performing “improper acts” in hotel rooms with a young girl several times earlier in the year. The 12 year-old child met both adults through her 3DS, though apparently not through Swapnote. Yomiuri Online reports that the 3DS’s online function was used to access an online dating site. Interestingly, Mainichi News does specifically mention Swapnote.

In both instances, the parents had originally turned off the 3DS’s internet function, but the children turned it back on.

Wii Sports Club is being made available digitally as individual chunks. Tennis and bowling will be available as separate downloads later this week, followed by baseball, golf, and boxing down the line.

Despite this release model, Wii Sports Club could launch as a physical product in the future. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata wouldn’t rule out the possibility during the company’s investor Q&A last week.

He said:

Next week, GT.TV will be hosting an entire show dedicated to Nintendo. But it looks like there will be a few goodies on this week’s episode as well.

New levels from Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be appearing on GT.TV this coming Friday. We’ll be hearing a bit from Reggie Fils-Aime, too.

As far as next week goes, that’s where we’ll be hearing about Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze… and more from Reggie, apparently. A bit confusing, but from what I can gather, there will be Nintendo-related coverage on GT.TV over the next two weeks.

The recently-released Mario/Luigi Wii U bundle is sold out on GameStop.com as well as Target.com. Both retailers currently list the product as “unavailable”. As of now, Best Buy seems to be one of the few retailers still taking orders online.

We already knew GameTrailers TV would be hosting a special episode on Nintendo (as is the case every year), but we now have an exact date. The episode will air next Friday – November 15 – 1 AM.

Reggie Fils-Aime will be on hand to provide “a look at Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and more,” according to an official listing on Spike.

What’s next for Nintendo? GTTV is joined by Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime to get a look at Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and more.

Bill Trinen is expected to be appearing on the episode as well. What else is in store? Feel free to take your guesses!
