Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is celebrating the release of No More Heroes 3 with a special event. Later this week, players can unlock a few spirits from the new Switch game. You can get a look at their designs above.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is known for doing these types of events fairly regularly. A few weeks ago, spirits were added based on Mario Golf: Super Rush. There have also been spirit collaborations with Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, as well as Persona 5 Strikers and Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection. Of course, that’s just this year. There’ve been other events in the past as well.

Not only was Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition announced for Switch during the Indie World Showcase last week, but it also released that same day. That shadowdrop release worked out well for Monomi Park as the game is off to a fast start on the eShop.
According to Monomi Park co-founder and CEO Nick Popovich, Slime Rancher’s Switch launch “was the best sales day in its history.” That’s despite the fact that the game has been around for several years.
Monomi Park is currently developing Slime Rancher 2, which was revealed earlier this year. There’s no word on a Switch release currently, but given the success of the original game on the console, perhaps a port will happen down the road.

There’s been a lot of talk about plans to feature Nintendo at the Tokyo Olympics that ultimately fell through. Earlier this year, we heard about a segment with Mario that never came to be. More recently, Nintendo music was close to being a part of the opening ceremony, and Lady Gaga was even going to appear dressed with Mario’s hat.
Bunshun has now come forward with another major leak that details various changes for the Olympics. In a proposed video, Mario would be going back to Tokyo through a pipe. He would then be throwing a ball that is passed among various popular characters before finally returning to Mario’s hand. Mario from there dives into two screens and that’s the start of the actual opening ceremony.
Here’s a look at some sketches:
