Nintendo is hosting the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 at E3 next week. Top players from around the world will be going head to head in what will be the first time the Smash Bros. game for Switch is featured in a competitive setting.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Nintendo’s director of product marketing manager Bill Trinen spoke about the tournament a bit further. On Nintendo’s goal for the event, Trinen said:

A big content update has gone live for Nine Parchments on Switch. The Astral Challenges patch is comprised of six new Arena levels, the unlockable character Selius, new Quick Chat feature, and more.

We have a full rundown of the update below. You’ll find a new trailer attached for the Astral Challenges as well.

Update: Paladins pre-load is live on the North American Switch eShop. Pricing is set at $29.99.

Original: Paladins is official for Switch. A listing on the European eShop reveals the release, which is slated for June 12.

European Switch owners can pre-load Paladins – Founder’s Pack right now for £24.99. The offer should be extended to North American users soon as well. A free-to-play version of Paladins will be offered later this year, but the Founder’s Pack allows for early access, the ability to immediately unlock all Champions and their voice packs now and forever, and contains exclusive cosmetics.

We have the following overview and trailer for Paladins:

Sushi Striker

Freedom Planet

Freedom Planet on Switch is official. After GalaxyTrail teased it early in the week, XSEED has announced a partnership with the studio that will involve a new eShop release this fall.

You may recall that Freedom Planet previously ended up on Wii U. The 2D platformer features fast-paced combat “that pits a spunky dragon girl and her friends against hostile foreign powers and alien attack forces.”

Earlier today, some comments leaked out from the latest issue of Famitsu from an interview with Pokemon president Tsunekazu Ishihara. In addition to speaking broadly about what’s planned for the 2019 games on Switch, he also touched on Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee.

We’ve now translated a more complete version of the original comments posted online. Read up on what Ishihara had to say below.

de Blob is just a few weeks out from reaching Switch. The Wii classic will be available on Nintendo’s new console starting June 26, THQ Nordic announced today.
