Skyward Sword’s Fi is a playable character in Hyrule Warriors

A scan from the latest Famitsu has revealed that the Goddess Sword herself, Fi, will be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors. There are a few details that have come out with the scan:
- Link and Zelda will both be able to wear their Skyward Sword costumes
- The Ball and Chain from Twilight Princess will be in-game
- Ghirahim and the Imprisoned will also make an appearance in Hyrule Warriors
Little else is known outside of what’s available from the scan, but no doubt more information will be surface in the coming days.

Palutena gets the spotlight twice today as Sakurai shows off her huge up-smash attack:
I talked about an attack with a far reach in yesterday’s post, but it didn’t compare to Palutena’s up smash attack! No joke, it reaches really far. It reached so far in this shot that even the rocketbarrels got blown up.
However, it appears it’s not without drawbacks:
That said, if we’re talking just about range, even that can’t beat Palutena’s power, Heavenly Light. It has quite a damage field. However, this is a no-flinch attack, which means the opponents won’t react to the damage!
Day 1 Patch available for Youkai Watch 2 in Japan

A day 1 patch for Youkai Watch 2 is apparently available for players who already have a copy of the game in Japan. Along with the purchase of the game, a QR code is included with the box that takes 3DS systems straight to the eShop to download. Currently it’s unknown what the day 1 patch adds, it could possibly be related to some of the announcements of last week’s Nintendo Direct. We’ll update the post as new information surfaces

Etrian Odyssey IV and Etrian Odyssey Untold discounted on 3DS eShop

Both of Atlus’ 3DS Etrian Odyssey entries are currently marked down on the Nintendo eShop, the digital copy of both games going for $19.99 down from the recommended retail price of $39.99. Currently there is no discount on the physical releases, so this could be a good opportunity for those looking to pick up either game to take the plunge
Bravely Default Demo getting update in Japan – Up to Chapter 4 will be available

Though the game is already out in the West and has been out in Japan for even longer, the demo for Bravely Default was just updated on the Japanese eShop. Up to Chapter 4 of the game is now playable and the full game update is available for purchase for 2000 yen, unlocking the voice acting along with the remaining content.

Prince of Tennis II Screenshots

Prince of Tennis II is slated for a November 6th release and today a few screenshots were released along with a few tidbits:
- The game follows the anime series
- Takes place in a training camp
- You play as a female rookie journalist who interviews the team members

Today’s screenshot features the Mii Gunner once again, as Sakurai explains one of the possible attacks available to Mii fighters:
The Mii Gunner’s side smash attack may have the farthest reach of all the side smashes…as should be expected from a firearms expert!! Looks like the attack missed this time, though.

Youkai Watch 2 – Nintendo Direct + Summary

The Youkai Watch 2 Nintendo Direct will be going live shortly! You can check it out below live and the story will be updated with information as it comes out (Thanks NintenDaan!)
- Direct was hosted by Level-5 president Akihiro Hino
- Explained a lot of the gameplay mechanics and concepts, many of which we’ve seen before
- Demonstrates a lot of the cross-media aspects relating to the anime, manga and other lines
- World appears to be more expansive than in the first game
- Riding the train in-game will bring you to new locations not available in the regular world (such as a beach or rural town)
- One of the new Youkai’s is an Onigiri Samurai
- The game features various mini-games such as bike racing
- Bosses can join your team, an example was shown in a bath house setting
- Multiplayer net-play is available for regular battles and the new Youkai Watch busters mode where you play as Youkai
- There are multiple version of Youkai Watch 2, preseumably with their own special Youkai
- DLC will be featured in the game but it appears to be free
- Special content available for those who owned the original
- A special version of the Youkai Jibanyan will be available depending on whether you download or buy the packaged copy of the game
