During Nintendo’s 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, one investor brought up media reports that say the company’s games don’t appear to fully take gender into account.

President Shuntaro Furukawa responded, mentioning how Nintendo feels “that diversity, including gender diversity, is very important.” He added that in terms of features for a particular game, “we must make decisions by taking into consideration a wide variety of factors, and we may not always be able to meet every request.”

Nintendo’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders tend to feature business-related questions, but one person attending the event decided to bring up a more easygoing subject. All of Nintendo’s director candidates were asked to discuss their favorite games.

Chris Meledandri

Back in May, Chris Meledandri was nominated as a new outside director at Nintendo. He was then officially approved last week with a vote of 99.31 percent.

Meledandri’s addition to Nintendo may seem surprising to some. He’s the CEO over at Illumination – the studio behind the films Despicable Me and Minions.

Summer’s Dream has been announced as the next summoning event in Fire Emblem Heroes. It will feature Freyja, Freyr, Ogma, and Caeda (as a duo). A new Paralogue Story is planned. Additionally, 5-star Hero Norne: Seaside Volunteer will appear as a Score Reward in the next Tempest Trials+ event.

Fire Emblem Heroes will host the new Summer’s Dream event on July 7. We have a trailer below.

Griftlands

Klei Entertainment has updated Griftlands on Switch. Players can now access version 1.0.2.

Klei says that the update includes additions, fixes, and adjustments. This includes options for Colorblind accessibility.
