One of our earliest looks at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time came in 1997. It was fully playable at the trade show, which was a full year before launch. We’ve learned over the years that the build on display there offered up some significant changes from the final version.

Now more than twenty years later, assets from that early version of Zelda: Ocarina of Time have popped up online. Forest of Illusion obtained a prototype N64 cartridge for F-Zero X from a former Nintendo employee, which amazingly enough, has the unfinished build.

Here’s a roundup of notable findings:

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is getting a pretty big patch on Switch in the future. Known as “Still in the Groove”, the update features new bigger Fixed World maps, changes to Earthlings behavior, Power Hats hidden on the map, and more.

CrossCode

A new 1.0.12 patch has gone out for the Switch version of CrossCode. There are a few aspects to the update – including a few fixes – but the main highlight is the inclusion of New Game Plus.

The full patch notes are as follows:

PowerA has unveiled a pair of new wired Switch controllers inspired by Animal Crossing. One design features Isabelle, while the second has Tom Nook.

Both offer “a 3.5mm audio jack, mappable advanced gaming buttons, and standard ergonomic layout.” The controllers have been officially licensed by Nintendo.

Cultist Simulator

Playdigious has prepared a new trailer for Cultist Simulator, a roguelike narrative card game. Watch the video below.

Cultist Simulator is due out for Switch on February 2. We have more information about the title here.

Civilization VI

Civilization VI is still going strong with new content. As part of the game’s New Frontier Pass, it’s been announced that the next batch of DLC is scheduled for January 28.

2K and Firaxis published a video today in which the developers share their vision for the fifth DLC pack. We’ve attached the video below.

Fallen Legion Revenants

Ahead of its release next month, a demo for the Fallen Legion Revenants is going live on Switch today. It can be accessed from the eShop.

NIS America also readied a new trailer to promote today’s demo news. We’ve included the video below.

Bandai Namco has provided a status update on Jump Fore’s newest DLC roster addition Giorno Giovanna. The character will launch this spring, the company announced today.

Two Point Hospital

Two Point Hospital players on Switch have a lot to look forward to. On March 5, the game is getting new Off the Grid and Close Encounters DLC, which will be bundled together with everything else released so far in a Jumbo Edition. A free update is planned for the same day.

Fantasy Network

Raven Travels Studios today announced that its social media-themed Metroidvania game Fantasy Network is in the works for Switch. Following a Kickstarter campaign set for Q1 2021 that will help fund the end of development, the title should end up on Nintendo’s console by the end of the year.
