The Nintendo theme park, Super Nintendo World, has finally received an opening date. This attraction will be added to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka on February 4. 

This news comes with a slew of new details and pictures, detailing such things as a Mario Kart ride and Bowser’s Castle. Bowser’s Castle will greet visitors with all of the earnable cups in the Mario Kart game as well as a giant Bowser statue.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta go on a shopping spree for some Nintendo gifts and donate the items to Starlight Foundation. Check out the full episode below.

Pokemon 25th anniversary

Pikachu was featured at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade today, marking twenty consecutive years that Pokemon has been represented there. During the short segment, the series’ 25th anniversary logo was revealed. News regarding the big milestone and “very special upcoming celebration” will be shared soon.

As far as new game releases go, we do at least know that New Pokemon Snap and a sequel to Detective Pikachu are on the way. It remains to be seen what else is in store, but hopefully we’ll be hearing more towards the beginning of 2021.

Super Nintendo World is pretty much ready to go at this point with construction having been all but completed. We now have a good look at the theme park from an aerial perspective thanks to a brief video.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild statues

First 4 Figures has unveiled a pair of new statues from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link is the main focus here, but Zelda will also be included if you purchase a special bundle.

First 4 Figures will be selling an “Exclusive Edition” only for Link as well as a “Master Edition” that has both characters. There will be 10,000 pieces and 3,000 pieces of the two versions respectively.

Shadow of the Ninja

Natsume is partnering with Limited Run Games to re-release some of its classic games. Two titles have been confirmed so far.

Shadow of the Ninja, a side-scrolling action game which originally came to the NES in 1990, is up first. It will be joined by 2001 Game Boy Color title Return of the Ninja. These two titles will work on their original hardware.

Both will be going up for pre-order on November 27 via Limited Run Games’ website. They’ll be offered in standard and collector’s edition formats.

EarthBound, also known as Mother 2, is continuing to receive new merchandise. It’s now been revealed that the game’s soundtrack will be offered in an analog vinyl record format.

The soundtrack features two discs with 24 songs from the game. Much of the music will be recorded from the SNES audio source, but the last three songs in the second disc will be PSI Mix arrangements of “Room Number,” “Hula Hoop,” and “ANOTHER 2.”

The EarthBound vinyl soundtrack releases in Japan on February 10, 2021. The Sony Music Shop has pre-orders for 5,500 yen.

When you think of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, at this point, Pikachu is one of the first things that has to come to mind. The Pokemon rep has been a staple of the show for the past couple of decades. Unsurprisingly, the tradition continues in 2020.

Pikachu will be featured when the parade is held in New York City on Thursday, November 26. The Pokemon Company says “a troupe of dancing Pikachu will deliver an electrifying performance in the parade in addition to the iconic giant Pikachu balloon soaring among the skyscrapers of Manhattan.” Also teased, “Pokemon fans will want to tune in to find out why they’re making a special appearance this year.”

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade can be seen on NBC and Telemundo from 9 AM to 12 PM in all time zones.

Doom - Game & Watch Super Mario Bros.

Doom is now running on the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros., following some modding work done by YouTuber stacksmashing.

The device was hacked last week, allowing custom code to run. stacksmashing now has the first Doom game running, though some tweaks were made. As it’s a work in progress, some textures were removed and the resolution has been paired back a bit.

Today, Square Enix provided an update on The World Ends with You: The Animation. It’s now confirmed to debut in April 2021.

A new key visual for the show was also released, which we have above. A second trailer for the anime can be found below as well.
