PixlBit Studios has announced its first title “PixlCross”, which will soon be available on the Wii U eShop and other platforms.

PixlBit describes its new title as follows:

“PixlCross is a nonogram-style puzzle game (i.e. Picross) where you use hints to fill in a grid and reveal a hidden picture. Containing more than 150 puzzles across four levels of difficulty, players will start by solving puzzles on simple 5×5 grids, eventually taking on the challenging final puzzles on massive 35×35 grids! Each puzzle, no matter how large, can be solved without guessing – a common frustration for fans of the pen-and-paper puzzles.”

Players can slide along the grid to fill in or cross out grid boxes. Boxes count as you fill, and pop-out hints eliminate unnecessary scrolling. The game also makes use of an auto-scroll feature to make even the toughest challenges a bit easier.

Because PixlCross saves after every move, it’s possible to exit and return to puzzles at any time. There’s also a hint system that allows the game to be as easy or difficult as players see fit.

Aside from puzzles, PixlCross also features a Puzzle Editor. Players will be able to create their own puzzles and share them with the community through online connectivity.

We also have confirmation that the game will support off-TV play as well as Miiverse integration.

PixlCross doesn’t have a release date just yet. However, it’s already with Nintendo for certification, so it will probably be ready sooner rather than later.

Take a look at PixlCross’ trailer below.

On a future Earth starved for resources, a new species engineered for consumption has mutated into monsters. Run, gun, and slash your energy sword through level after level of nonstop destruction to end their reign of terror.

Not to be outdone by the action, however, the story line lends the game its soul and draws you even further into the mix. A variety of options and a number of different skill levels are all you’ll have to prepare yourself for the full-blown challenge of Turbo Hard mode. Minecraft: Story Mode is on its way to Wii U, according to The Verge. While it isn’t the core Minecraft game that has seen a huge amount of success, this will be the series’ first appearance on a Nintendo system.

Developer Telltale Games told The Verge that with its new game, they hope to reach players outside of the Minecraft fandom as well as introduce new people to the franchise.

Here’s a trailer released back in July:

And below is an official overview:

“Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure game set in a Minecraft world. It is a five-part episodic series that will take you to the Nether, the Farlands, the End, and beyond! You will drive how the story flows through the decisions you make: what you say to people (and how you say it), and what you choose to do in moments of thrilling action.

You are Jesse. He and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone; four adventurers that slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.”

Minecraft: Story Mode will debut later this year.
