Hacker “Elmassivo” has managed to get the GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U working with Windows 7 and Windows 8 PCs through the well-known emulator Dolphin.

First, download this file. You’ll next need to follow the steps below that are outlined by GamesBeat:

  1. The very first thing you need to do is reboot your Windows 8 PC into a special mode that will enable you to install drivers that are not signed by Microsoft. Here is the step-by-step guide to doing that.
  2. Plug the black USB cord from the adapter into your PC.
  3. Wait for the USB install to fail.
  4. Now, run the install file that you downloaded as an administrator.
  5. Agree to installing the unsigned driver (at your own risk).
  6. Install the bundled vJoy program, which lets the GameCube controller speak to the PC.
  7. The GC adapter program will boot up, and you will need to click the “Start” button to enable it to work.
  8. Calibrate the analog sticks on your controllers by clicking on the Windows Gamepad Info button from the GCN adapter program and selecting the properties.
  9. If you want to use the controller with Dolphin, download these configuration files.
  10. Copy the files into the Dolphin folder (found at documents\dolphin\emulator\config\profiles\GCPad\).
  11. Boot up the Dolphin emulator, select GCPad, and load the profile.

Follow these steps and you should be golden!

The eBay auction for the defective Samus amiibo has finally come to an end.

We reported a few days ago that bids had topped $1,000. Since the auction’s end, which happened today, the final bid reached $2,500.

This Samus amiibo was a hot item for one reason in particular: the two dual canons. Samus only has once, which made the figure a defect.

We received a sketch from one of our researchers. This is a female Inkling with the Charge Shot Gun equipped. This knit cap, with its large decorative badges, makes her look cute…wait, what am I saying? She’s a squid!

Mighty No. 9 shouldn’t be in development for too much longer. In a website update, Comcept noted that the game is now in a “pre-final” beta stage.

Comcept still needs to fill certain things in, though the current build features all story stages, Online Race Battles, a Challenge Mode, and more. The main work left to be done is to finish Mighty No. 9’s ending, perform adjustments, debugging, visual tweaks, and other things of that nature.
