Rumor: February 2019 Nintendo Direct planned for next week
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 0 comments
The last general Nintendo Direct aired last September. Based on that, this is officially the longest we’ve gone between presentations. Because of the lack of Nintendo Directs and uncertainty regarding when certain Switch games will be released this year, fans are getting a bit antsy. Depending on what you believe though, we may not have to wait much longer.
It may seem a bit strange to be sharing a rumor about an upcoming Nintendo Direct, but stick with us here for a second. To put it simply, ResetERA user “king zell” has suggested February 13 as a day the next presentation will air (or announced if nothing else). He wrote on the forum’s Nintendo Direct speculation thread, “13 is your lucky number….. and am out”.

Rumor: Nikkei claims smaller Switch is coming, Nintendo planning new service for this year
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
Update: After having three separate translators look at Nikkei’s article, we believe what we have shared in this post is accurate. To clarify, the publication claims that Nintendo will be strengthening its monthly paid service, Nintendo Switch Online, which launched last September. It does not elaborate by saying whether this is an update/upgrade to Nintendo Switch Online, something separate, etc. Whether Nikkei is wrong or misreporting this or not remains to be seen.
Original: In a new report today, Japanese publication Nikkei claims to have information regarding Nintendo’s future plans for Switch. According to the outlet, a smaller version of the Switch is in the works and may release as early as this year.
Nikkei also claims that Nintendo is readying some sort of new service for this year aimed at game enthusiasts. However, further details were not provided.

An image surfaced online today showing what appears to be new amiibo for the Super Smash Bros. line. We’re able to get first looks at the likes of Pokemon Trainer and Snake. Additionally, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Dark Samus, Chrom, Simon, and Richter are listed.
Apparently, the image stems from a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate guide that was made available in Japan this week. That being said, take this with a grain of salt as its origins have not been officially confirmed.

Rumor: Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch has “been long done”, other Metroid “stuff” in the works
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan has provided some additional details about the current state of Nintendo’s plans for Metroid.
Something that has been rumored in the past is Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch, though it has yet to be announced. Khan says that it’s “been long done” and it was supposed to be announced last month. Why that didn’t happen is unclear.
Aside from Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid Prime Trilogy, there’s apparently “more Metroid stuff” in the works. Khan believes Metroid Prime 4’s delay “adjusts their schedule a bit,” which may or may not include Trilogy.

Rumor: Tidbits about issues with Metroid Prime 4’s development, how Retro became involved
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
Nintendo dropped some massive news earlier today that many probably hadn’t seen coming. After it was initially announced at E3 2017, the work on Metroid Prime 4 is being scrapped. Nintendo is essentially starting from scratch, this time with original Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios.
It’s unlikely that we’ll hear about the issues surrounding development anytime soon in an official capacity, if at all. However, Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan claims to have some insight into the situation.

Death end re;Quest listed for Switch
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
Death end re;Quest may have a chance of coming to Switch. That’s based on a new listing from Amazon Italy, which lists the game.
One aspect to consider is the release date the retailer has. Amazon Italy claims that Death end re;Quest is coming to Switch on February 22, which is the release date for the PlayStation 4 version. That would be oddly close since there’s yet to even be an official announcement. It’s unclear if the listing itself is a mistake, or if the date is just a placeholder.
Here’s a trailer for Compile Heart’s RPG: Death end re;Quest
