Nintendo talks Switch hardware and software sales

Nintendo delved into the performance of Switch hardware and software sales as part of its latest financial results.
Over the past year, sales of the console were up 37.1 percent. Between all Switch hardware, the system sold nearly 30 million units.
As for software, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was Nintendo’s top performance over the past fiscal year at 20.85 million. Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury also performed strongly at 9.01 million and 5.59 million copies respectively.

Crunching Koalas and Klace today announced that they’re bringing the visual novel Winds of Change – described as the “ultimate furry tale” to Switch. It will release on June 3.

Europe’s top 15 downloads on the Switch eShop for April 2021

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for April 2021.
It’s an old favorite at the top of the charts – that being Minecraft. Monster Hunter Rise continues its strong run at #2. New Pokemon Snap, which came out at the very end of the month, manages to come in third.

2021 World Video Game Hall of Fame inductees announced

During an online ceremony today, the Strong National Museum of Play announced the inductees for the 2021 World Video Game Hall of Fame. Animal Crossing, Microsoft Flight Simulator, StarCraft, and And Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? have been chosen.
The finalists were announced last month. Call of Duty, FarmVille, FIFA International Soccer, Guitar Hero, Mattel Football, Pole Position, Portal, and Tron were also nominated, but will not be inducted.
