Xenoblade Chronicles 2 director on the character models, reason for outsourcing, more

Monolith Soft president and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 director Tetsuya Takahashi recently met with Persona producer and director Katsura Hashino for a lengthy discussion. The two met for the very first time to share some development stories in an interview, which was published on Den-fami Nico Gamer.
Siliconera translated one interesting excerpt about the development struggles on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Takahashi spoke about a great desire to improve the character models for the game, and talked about the reason why outsourcing was so necessary. With under 100 developers working at Monolith Soft, about half working on Zelda, and a few more needed for R&D, the company had around 40 of its own staffers available.

Bigben Interactive bringing Premium Pool Arena to Switch

Next week, Bigben Interactive will be putting Premium Pool Arena. The European eShop shows a release date of February 6.
Premium Pool Arena is pool as we know it, with “different game modes and ultra-intuitive gameplay.” You can play traditional 8-ball, participate in tournaments against stronger and stronger opponents, and unlock different cues with your victories.
Premium Pool Arena will cost £8.89.
Super Mario Run – Gold Goomba Lite event now running

Super Mario Run’s latest event is now up and running. Until February 16, players can partake in Gold Goomba Lite.
This is a version of the Gold Goombas event in which you have an easier chance to obtain certain rewards. By defeating Gold Goombas in World Tour, you can get these special items. Icons will appear on courses where Gold Goombas can be found.

Puzzle Puppers coming to Switch, out on February 20

Puzzle Puppers is heading to Switch, Cardboard Keep has announced. A release is planned for February 20.
Puzzle Puppers is about stretching cute dogs to their food bowls. Using deceptively simple mechanics, you’ll take on some progressively trickier puzzles.

CyberConnect2’s “Trilogy of Vengeance” games coming to Switch

CyberConnect2 has announced that its “Trilogy of Vengeance” games will be released on the Switch. As part of CyberConnect2’s “New Original Project Strategy”, they are planning on releasing several self-published games in addition to commissioned works for other publishers. These new games will be comparatively smaller in size and scope, but will also be cheaper and will only get digital releases. The first three games of this kind are the “Trilogy of Vengeance” games:

Splatoon 2: .96 Gal Deco being added to the game today/tomorrow

It’s the end of the week, which means another new weapon addition is coming to Splatoon 2 – this time, it’s the .96 Gal Deco. This weapon is identical to the regular .96 Gal in terms of stats, but comes with the Splash Wall sub-weapon and the Splashdown special instead. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.
