Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa on giving devs freedom, entertainment, mobile monetization, not copying Disney

Time has published a few choice words with Shuntaro Furukawa after speaking with the Nintendo president at the company’s headquarters in Japan earlier this month. Furukawa weighed in on the importance of giving teams freedom, focusing on entertainment above all else, approach to mobile monetization, and not copying companies – including Disney – in light of the Big N’s IP expansion plans over the past few years.

Pokemon Masters: Brendan Spotlight Scout and Grass-type training event coming soon

The next Spotlight Scout has been announced for Pokemon Masters. It won’t feature a brand-new character though – in this scout, you’ll have a higher chance of getting Brandon & Treecko. Also coming soon is another training event: the Grass-type training event will be ideal for training Grass-type Pokemon. We don’t have exact dates for either of these events yet, but we do know they’ll start on the same day.

Fire Emblem Heroes: Heroes with Null Skills Summoning Focus now live

Another skill-based Summoning Focus is now available in Fire Emblem Heroes. Heroes with Null Skills features units who have the Null Follow-Up skills. The 5-star focus units are Mareeta: The Blade’s Pawn, Corrin: Dream Prince and Hilda: Idle Maiden. The Summoning Focus will be available until October 30.
Dragalia Lost – Version 1.13.0 update coming October 28

Pokemon GO to add GO Battle League in early 2020, walk to gain entry and battle others online

Niantic has announced a brand new feature for Pokemon GO. With the GO Battle League, players “will be able to walk in order to earn entry” and then “battle opponents from around the globe through an online matching system and rise in the ranks of the league.”

Fire Emblem Heroes – New 5 star focus with characters from Shadows of Valentia

Four members of the Deliverance (Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia) are now able to be summoned: Silque, Python, Catria, and Forsyth. Players can also enjoy the following:

Dragalia Lost – Astral Raids and Imperial Onslaught events

On October 25, Astral Raids will be coming to Dragalia Lost. The upcoming boss this time is Shishimai. Astral Pieces will be required for raid challenges. The Imperial Onslaught event also has double drops live at this time — do note that drops for Astral Pieces and Wyrmprints will not be doubled, but you can enjoy increased rewards for other drops.

Mario Kart Tour – New software update V1.1.1

A new update has rolled out for Mario Kart Tour to address known issues, according to Nintendo. The file sizes are as follows: 74MB (Android) / 195.7MB (iOS.) There is also an additional 44MB download upon loading. This update will become mandatory in order to continue playing the game — so make sure to update by October 23.

Mario Kart Tour adding playable Waluigi

Nintendo is continuing to roll out information about the Halloween tour in Mario Kart Tour. Today, the company announced that Waluigi is joining the game as a playable character. He’ll carry “an offense-oriented special skill”. Additionally, fans can look forward to the Waluigi Pinball track.
Nintendo previously confirmed a couple of other new playable characters. Luigi and King Boo will also be appearing, along with the Luigi’s Mansion course from Mario Kart DS.
The Halloween tour in Mario Kart Tour starts on October 22.
