Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
The Switch OLD “does not have a new CPU, or more RAM, from previous Nintendo Switch models,” Nintendo has confirmed. That was almost certainly the case given what we saw from the official specs.
Despite the same internals, the new Switch does have upgrades in other ways. The biggest improvement is the 7-inch OLED screen. It also features a wide adjustable stand for tabletop mode, a new dock with a wired LAN port, 64GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play.
The Switch OLED releases on October 8.

Nintendo has passed along an official list of specs for the new Switch OLED.
Despite previous rumors, it appears that the internals are largely the same. That means the resolution will not see an upgrade over the standard Switch and Switch Lite.
Since there’s a bigger screen, there’s just a small increase in the overall weight of the device.

Switch version 12.1.0 includes an update for the Joy-Con
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
As part of Switch version 12.1.0, it turns out that the Joy-Con can also be updated.
This can be done by accessing the system settings. Go to the “Controllers and Settings” tab and scroll down to “Update Controllers”. Joy-Con that are connected should then be updated. Unfortunately, Nintendo has never made it clear what the process actually does.
Switch version 12.1.0 dropped a short while ago. You can read about the system update here.
Thanks to Cameron and Bernardo N for the tip.
