AVGN 1 & 2 Deluxe

It’s been quite some time since we heard about Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe for Switch, but things are coming along nicely. James Rolfe, creator of the show, revealed that the games are currently targeting a September release. A physical version is also likely to happen, but won’t be available until much later.

Here’s some information about Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe as well as a trailer:

Samurai Shodown received a new update this week, bringing the game to version 2.00. Aside from adding Gongsun Li as a free DLC character and implementing fixes, several character adjustments were implemented.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions

Jump Force Deluxe Edition

Bandai Namco has passed along several screenshots from Jump Force Deluxe Edition. For the latest look at the game, check out the gallery below.

Jump Force Deluxe Edition is slated for August 28 on Switch.

Paper Mario: The Origami King has a number of bosses known as “Legion of Stationery”. These enemies come in the form of pencils, sticky tape, and more.

German outlet PCGames recently asked producer Kensuke Tanabe about the decision to have these bosses be regular objects instead of “normal” bad guys. Regarding that, Tanabe mentioned:

Samurai Shodown - Gongsun

Dengeki held a live stream for Samurai Shodown this week to show off Gongsun, a free DLC character for the game. Watch the full recording below.

Samurai Shodown, along with the Gongsun DLC, is out now on Switch.

Future Games Show

The Future Games Show was held in June as one of the many replacement events for E3 2020. Recently, GamesRadar announced that the presentation will be returning for a second time in just a few weeks to tie in with Gamescom.

The next Future Games Show will air on August 28 at the following times:

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated

THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp have announced that a new SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated update is inbound for Switch. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but it’s targeted for arrival within the next ten days.

The upcoming update adds more concept art to the Theater, makes adjustments, fixes bugs and other issues, and more. Continue on below for the full patch notes. 

Cat Quest II - "Mew World Update"

Publisher PQube and developer The Gentlebros have announced that a “Mew World Update” is now live for Cat Quest II. It includes many quality of life changes – some of which will be implemented straight away, while the Mew Game mode and its meowdifiers will require you to have finished the game once already.

Also announced today is that the Cat Quest franchise has now sold over 1.3 million units worldwide.

Deadly Premonition 2 received its first major patch last month. That update dealt with transgender misrepresentation issues, improved the frame rate, fixed bugs/glitches, and changed the icon.

Another patch for Deadly Premonition 2 went live today, and the game is now at version 1.0.3. Aside from adding an inverted camera option, we’re hearing that there’s another big performance improvement. There’s also one player report of a mini game progression issue having been fixed.
