Switch

Square Enix has released their featured games along with a schedule for Tokyo Game Show 2020. TGS 2020 will be online this year, and runs September 24 to 27. Square Enix will be seeing a large amount of features this year, including several mobile titles and a heck of a lot of Dragon Quest. Switch titles like Collection of Saga: Final Fantasy Legend, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, and other Japan exclusive games will see the spotlight. Check out the full lineup and schedule below, as rounded up by Gematsu after the break:

Sonic Forces + Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD Double Pack

Amazon has posted the boxart for Sonic Forces + Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD Double Pack, which appears to be on track for October 26. Pre-orders are open here.

Also remember that SEGA has another similar release incoming with the Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing Double Pack. That one should arrive on the same day as well. If you’d like to pre-order, you can reserve that one here.

Zoids Wild: Infinity Blast

Takara Tomy has set a release date for Zoids Wild: Infinity Blast. In Japan, the game launches for Switch on November 26.

Here’s a trailer:

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield have updated, which have cycled out the current event for Max Raid Battles.

One of the main highlights is that in Pokemon Sword, Gigantamax Appletun and Gigantamax Toxtricity (Low Key Form) encounters will be more common. For Pokemon Shield, it’s Gigantamax Flapple and Gigantamax Toxtricity (Amped Form).

Paper Mario: The Origami King doesn’t have a traditional experience points system. When you win a battle, you instead receive coins and confetti. However, at one point, implementing experience points during development may have been a possibility.

Fans have picked up on that information based on a datamine of the game’s save file. Interestingly enough, one of the variables included is “battle_win_exP”. It’s included in the final game and can be easily seen by opening up the save file data in a program like Notepad.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZ is taking action against rage quitters. According to an in-game notice, players “who deliberately disconnect during online matches” will be subject to a temporary ban, which lasts about a week. Those that are repeatedly doing so may face a permanent ban.

The full notice reads:

A game entitled “Immortals: Fenyx Rising” has appeared on the Taiwanese rating board with Ubisoft listed as the publisher. It has been rated for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

While no game by this name has been announced by Ubisoft at this time, it seems likely this is the new title for their upcoming adventure game, Gods & Monsters. Ubisoft confirmed that Gods & Monsters would be getting a new name after its accidental demo leak back in June and seeing that the main character’s name is Fenyx, it makes sense that this would be the new title.

However, nothing has been confirmed at this time and this information comes from Gematsu, not Ubisoft directly. So, there is a slim chance that this game is not Gods & Monsters, but more information should come from Ubisoft soon.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and Shin Megami Tensei V hold on strong to their positions, though Bravely Default II just drops outside of the top five.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between August 6 and August 19.

Mary Skelter Finale

Mary Skelter Finale is seeing a second delay. Whereas it was last lined up for October 8 in Japan, it will now launch on November 5. Prior to this, the game was originally slated for August 27 on Switch.

Compile Heart did not provide much in the way of an explanation regarding the latest delay, but fans will only need to wait an extra month for Mary Skelter Finale’s release.
