Cleaning staff for Germany’s classification board almost threw out Nintendo Labo after mistaking it for waste paper
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Random, Switch | 13 Comments
The USK acts as the official classification board for Germany. We’ve spoke about them on the site plenty of times before, but they’re essentially the same as the ESRB in the U.S.
It seems that Nintendo gave the USK early access to Labo, but things nearly went very wrong. A tweet sent out earlier today states that the USK’s cleaning staff almost disposed of the product after thinking it was waste paper. We assume that everything worked out in the end, but that’s a pretty interesting story.
Thanks to Paul for the tip.

US: Switch has sold more consoles than any other platform in history on a time-aligned basis

Nintendo has shattered all sorts of sales records with Switch since the system launched in 2017. Despite being around for less than a year, it has done exceptionally well thus far.
The latest example of this can be seen from a nugget of new information provided by the NPD. Analyst Mat Piscatella says that “on a time-aligned basis through the first 10 months on the market, Nintendo Switch has sold more consoles than any other platform in history.”
Nintendo announced earlier this month that Switch is the fastest-selling home video game system of all time in the US. Nearly five million units have been sold in the country.
