gamescom 2016 is right around the corner and Nintendo just sent out a press release announcing their full lineup and plans for the show.
The biggest highlight is probably a live gameplay demonstration of Pokemon Sun & Moon by Game Freak’s Shigeki Morimoto. This will only be the second ever live gameplay of Sun & Moon, after its initial demonstration at E3 in June. The gameplay demonstration will be streamed live on Nintendo’s German Twitch channel this Thursday, August 18th, at 17:00 CEST.
Nintendo is steadily increasing its Nintendo Selects range of products in Europe. Four additional Wii U games will be added to the lineup, meaning they will get a reprint and a permanent discount, starting on September 30th. The four new additions are Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Super Mario 3D World, Mario Party 10 and Pikmin 3.
Nintendo just released a new video about the upcoming Paper Mario: Color Splash. It’s the first in a multi-part series about a squad of toads helping Mario in his adventure (and not getting the glory they deserve). Check it out:
Pokémon Shuffle’s weekly update is bringing back a Mega challenge, featuring Garchomp. It also features several standard battles, including a brand-new stage to catch Typhlosion.
The Mega-Garchomp stage will run until August 23rd. As usual with Mega challenges, only the best players will earn the Mega Stone. Garchompite will go to the top 14,000 players in Europe, 22,000 in North America and 60,000 in Japan. Other prizes are as follows:

Crash Bandicoot will be joining Skylanders Imaginators later this year, as he’ll be getting his own figure. However, that’s not the only character from the classic platforming series on the way to Activision’s new toys-to-life title.
An image on GameSpot’s website (now removed) reveals the existence of a Doctor Neo Cortex figure. Of course, he’s the primary antagonist of the Crash series.
Cortex will be included in a Starter Pack on the PlayStation 4. But just like Crash, he should be playable in all versions, including Wii U. Activision will likely bring out standalone figures of both Crash and Cortex at some point in the future.
Armikrog will finally be released on Wii U next week, according to a North American eShop listing. It won’t be out on Thursday like most digital titles, but Tuesday instead – August 23. The eShop lists a price point of $8.99.
Armikrog, a point-and-click title, will be appearing on Wii U nearly a year after its original debut.
The eShop page carries the following description:
The next wave of LEGO Dimensions content is slated for September 27. New packs based on Adventure Time, Ghostbusters, and more will begin to hit store shelves.
Amazon is taking pre-orders for all of the new items, and has significant discounts. The Ghostbusters Story Pack for instance is down to $30 from $50. You can see all of the pre-order discounts here.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2016 last month, Nintendo hosted a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament for players 12 and under. The company has now shared a highlights video, along with recordings of the entire event. Watch them all below.
