Pokemon GO has been out in United States, Australia, and New Zealand for over a week. The UK’s release took place a few days ago, and 26 new countries just joined in on the fun today. Now that Pokemon GO is available in a bunch of territories, now’s a good as time as ever to talk about it.
Obviously Pokemon GO a massively hot topic right now. It’s definitely invaded the mainstream, and we’re even seeing it covered by notable news outlets.
So how’s everyone feeling about Pokemon GO? Have you had a chance to try it out? If so, what do you think of it thus far? Are there are improvements/features you’d like to see? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!
Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – July 2016
Which creatures are Pokemon GO players after in the United States? To find out the answer to this question, Decluttr took various phrases such as “where is…” and “how to find…” on Google, matched them with Pokemon in the game, and measured the volume of searches per state.
Check out the image above for a look at the most sought-after Pokemon in each state. The results in list-form are after the break.
You’ll notice that Pikachu is the most wanted Pokemon in America. Eevee follows in second, and then Ditto.
Mark Pacini acted as director for Nintendo and Retro’s three Metroid Prime games. Then in 2008, he went on to co-found Armature Studio.
Pacini is now directing the Xbox One title ReCore – a game that actually takes a decent amount of inspiration from the Metroid Prime series. GamesBeat took a brief trip down memory lane with Pacini while interviewing him about his new game, and asked if he’s surprised by the longevity and how people still play the titles he made back with Retro.
He said in response:
“For sure. I was thankful to be part of the team that made those games. When we were making those, that was never one of our goals. We were just trying to make something cool. It was an unexpectedly great thing, that people started to do that. It’s awesome that people are still playing those games, but it’s a big surprise to us.”
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
Level-5 is sticking with its promotional efforts for Yo-kai Watch 3, which just launched in Japan. Find two more commercials for the title below.
