StreetPass UK spoke with Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono last month. During the chat, the Street Fighter producer was asked about other characters from the series he’d like to see in Smash. He also showed some interest in something like Nintendo vs. Capcom when asked about Smash Bros. characters that could be a good fit in Street Fighter.

Here’s the full interview:

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Towards the very end of last year, a special Xenoblade Chronicles X art book came out in Japan. This features over 300 pages of goodness showing characters, enemies, Dolls, and much more.

One section of the book is particularly interesting. This is the “Unidentified Material” portion that mainly highlights concepts with art that didn’t make it into the final game. Below, you can find some of these images along with translations for the different pages.

Protagonist (name undecided)

A rough sketch of a young man in his late twenties is found! He ended up as “protagonist” since the name was undecided, but the personality feels different from the avatar of Xenoblade Chronicles X. So that means this character is…!?

Father

Just introduced as “Father”, this rough sketch of a mysterious character has rough facial hair. The title probably doesn’t mean age[*], so is he someone’s father?
[* The used Japanese word may mean a father or an old man in general]

Reina Sakuraba

This is a rough sketch of a beautiful character who has an aura of a heroine. One can imagine that she is related to Sakuraba Industries because of her surname…

A whole bunch of footage has surfaced from the final version of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3. You can check it all out in the video below.

505 Games took to the official Terraria forums recently and provided an update about the game on both Wii U and 3DS.

The next Terraria console update is wrapping up, and could be ready around May. It’s expected that the 3DS patch will drop at around the same time. As for what the update entails, 505 Games noted the following:

3DS Update: will likely hit at a similar time frame as the console timing above. We have not shared what all we are including for this one – but the plan is for this to cover fixes to the most pressing issues as well as bringing the first post-launch new content to the 3DS version of Terraria! We will share more details at a later date.

There’s also some news about Terraria for Wii U. It sounds like this version of the game could come out at the end of May digitally (followed by the retail version).

505 said the following regarding Terraria on Nintendo’s console:

Wii U Terraria: This has taken longer than anticipated, however, we are on the brink of submission to Nintendo and this is expected to be available digitally at the end of May.

Last month, we found out about the very neat-looking 3DS game 80’s Overdrive. It was clear that the game is a racer… but that’s pretty much all we knew. To find out more, we reached out to the developer.

Just three team members are working on 80’s Overdrive: artist/designer Rafa? Kemnitz, a programmer who also handles music and sound effects, and “a part-time hardcore game tester.” Insane Code, the developer’s programmer company, will be publishing.

Let’s Talk #44: Early Miitomo and My Nintendo thoughts

Nintendo launched two important things outside of Japan this week: Miitomo and My Nintendo. For the uninitiated, Miitomo is Nintendo’s very first mobile app while My Nintendo is the company’s brand new rewards service.

Both of these have been out for a few days now. Have you had a chance to try either of them out? If so, what are your thoughts thus far? No matter how you feel, let us know in the comments below!

Highlights from last week’s topic: What do you think of Pokemon GO?

We’re back with a new weekly comic for you! With Pokémon Sun/Moon buzz in the air, we felt now would be a perfect time to feature this upcoming 3DS release.

Here’s today’s comic (click for full size):

Nintendo Everything comic #3 (2)

Don and I have been talking about some potentially neat ways to involve the community with some of our comics. Hopefully we’ll have something to share on that front very soon!
