(Well, it’s a little late at night but I think this’ll do…)

Hello all, Austin here. Most of you don’t listen to our podcast, but if you did, you would know that we’ll be restarting the podcast-tied “Book Club” again all about the video game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. If you’ve never heard of or participated in a book club, it’s pretty much what it sounds like: We all play a game at sort of the same pace, and every week we discuss in detail that week’s goings on in the game on “Here’s a Podcast”.

You can share your thoughts on the first part of the game using the Google Form below, or feel free to post a comment. Remember, we aren’t looking for general thoughts on the game– we want thoughts about this particular section of the game! Play along with us, or go based on memory, but we like depth because we love games. Hooray!

We’ll select a few of your guys’ thoughts to read on the podcast and help spur further discussion, so leave a name and location if you like.

For this week: From the beginning of the game through the game’s first temple, the Eastern Palace.

Tell us your thoughts with this easy and handy form!

Or head over to the forums!

~Austin

Monolith Soft updated Xenoblade Chronicles X’s website today with another two character profiles. We’re introduced to Irina as well as Van Damme.

Irina belongs to the private military organization known as “BLADE”. She worked for Elma when she was a part of the United Government Special Operations Unit, which is otherwise known as “Doll Corps”. Irina eventually became a member of BLADE, but even now idolizes Elma as she holds her to the highest esteem. Though she has a strong-minded and frank personality, Irina has a strong sense of duty to protect the people of Planet Mira. Monolith says of the character: “The BLADE member with an overflowing sense of duty”.

Van Damme is a commanding officer of BLADE, with the slight flaw of being sarcastic. He used to work as chief engineer aboard the immigration ship “White Whale”. He is broadminded and overbearing regardless of who he talks to, with his sarcasm as the flaw in the crystal.

Mario Party 10 is yet another Wii U game that won’t cost full price (given that most releases these days cost $60). Based on listings from Amazon and GameStop, Nintendo is only asking for $49.99. Newegg has the Mario Party 10 bundle priced at $60.

Update: Gone!

The Pit amiibo is back in stock once again over at GameStop. If you’re interested, you can place an order here. We’ll let you know if Pit sells out again.

If you ordered several limited edition Majora’s Mask New 3DS XLs, it appears that Best Buy will be cancelling all but one. It seems like they’re taking the first steps to stop scalpers! You’ll receive a notice from Best Buy if your order has been cancelled.

Pokemon as a gaming franchise has been around for nearly two decades. Given its popularity, Pokemon won’t be slowing down any time soon and we’ll continue to see new entries in the franchise.

Where might Pokemon go from here though? Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda won’t give any specifics away, but he did tease to Polygon that he has “some big-picture ideas” for the series.

Masuda said:

There’s probably going to be a lot more games; we might not be able to use the “Gotta catch ’em all” catchphrase anymore [laughs]. Of course, we want to keep creating things that will surprise and delight fans. I don’t think that’s going to change. … I have some big-picture ideas, but I can’t really talk about them.
