Today was the launch for Hollow Knight: Silksong, and fans are already putting together comparisons for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch versions of the game.

It goes without saying, but Silksong is naturally a better experience on the new hardware – though that’s not taking anything away from Nintendo Switch 1. Still, on Nintendo Switch 2, you’re getting an enhanced technical experience. The new system supports a higher resolution and a frame rate up to 120 FPS. There’s also a bit more going on with the Nintendo Switch 2 version in general, though there’s not a massive difference. Other than that, loading times are shorter on Nintendo’s latest system.

Cronos: The New Dawn is almost here, and we now have a graphics comparison for the Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 versions of the game.

It’s clear that certain changes were needed in order to get things up and running on Nintendo’s hardware. Both resolution and frame rate are lower on the system, which is to be expected. While it’s not 60 frames per second, an initial look seems to show that things are stable at 30 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2. Otherwise we also get a resolution of 1080p that’s upscaled.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land graphics comparison

Following the launch of Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Nintendo Switch 2, we have a new video comparison showing how it stacks up to the Switch 1 version.

There are definitely some extra bells and whistles on Nintendo Switch 2. Whereas the original game rate at 30 FPS, it’s now been bumped up to 60 on the new console – plus animations for distance enemies have seen a boost. There’s also a resolution increase for both docked and handheld modes.

WWE 2K25 Nintendo Switch 2 vs. PS5 Pro comparison

Following the launch of WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 this week, a new video has come in offering a graphics comparison to the PS5 Pro version.

If you’re not attuned to the small differences in graphics, both versions should look pretty similar. For the most part, that does seem to be the case. The PS5 Pro version should support a higher resolution and has some additional lighting effects (especially if you look at the entrance ramp on Nintendo Switch 2), but otherwise, there aren’t a ton of differences. The only other major change we can immediately notice is that

A new video has emerged comparing Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.

Yesterday, a special 10.0.0 update was released for the game. While there’s a ton included such as additional content, there are specific improvements for those playing on the new console. Nintendo promised more detailed visuals, an improved frame rate in certain areas (essentially now everything is 60 frames per second), and more. Now we get to see

Fortnite Switch vs. Switch 2 comparison

Another Nintendo Switch 2 comparison video has dropped, this time showing that version of Fortnite compared to Switch 1.

If you’ve played any of the battle royale title on the previous system, you should notice a substantial upgrade here. Epic already spoke about many of the improvements this week, but today’s video puts things in perspective.

A new video comparison has come in for Animal Crossing: New Horizons showing how the game has improved on Nintendo Switch 2 compared to the original Switch.

Nintendo released a handful of improvement updates this past week for various games, but Animal Crossing: New Horizons wasn’t one of them. Still, the new system alone is able to run it better thanks to the more powerful hardware.

Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch vs. Switch comparison

Super Mario Odyssey is one of a few Nintendo Switch games that’s been upgraded on Switch 2, and now we have a comparison for the two versions.

Those playing on the new console will notice a number of visual upgrades. The big change is an increase in resolution on Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, while Super Mario Odyssey ran fine previously, the new console addresses a few hiccups with the frame rate – it’s fully stable at 100 FPS. Interestingly, loading times are pretty much the same, though Nintendo Switch 2 has a very slight edge there.

Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 vs Switch 1 comparison

During today’s Nintendo Treehouse: Live event, official footage was shown that offered a graphics comparison for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Switch 2 vs. Switch 1.

This is one of the upcoming titles that will have extra bells and whistles on the new console. Aside from an improved resolution, the action is now at 60 frames per second rather than 30. That results in an experience that’s booth smoother and clearer. Especially with the comparison, that’s especially evident. Loading is significant improved as well.

A couple of new videos have come in for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown ahead of next week’s launch. Along with the launch trailer, we have a graphics comparison courtesy of GameXplain.

As noted in the technical analysis post, the Switch version of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown turned out very well. It’s a bit downgraded compared to other platforms, but not in an overly significant way.
