Pokemon Sun/Moon’s latest news update is in. Two new trailers are now online, showing quite a number of new things. We’re able to see trainer customization, the equivalent of Pokemon Amie (Pokemon Refresh), Eevee Z-Move, and a couple of new Pokemon. Watch the videos below.

Pokemon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara has been quoted as saying that the company will create games for Nintendo’s next platform, the NX.

“The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device,” he said. “We will make games for the NX.”

Ishihara shared those brief remarks as part of an interview with the Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately, he did not say when the first Pokemon NX games would be made available.

In celebration of Bayonetta 2’s second anniversary in Japan, PlatinumGames is sharing new tidbits about the game. Director Yusuke Hashimoto reveals on the studio’s website that Balder was originally intended to be playable in the main story.

According to Hashimoto:

Speaking of Balder, here’s a fun fact. When we first started planning Bayonetta 2, we thought about having him as a playable character in the main story. The idea was to split the story into two parts: as Bayonetta, players would fight against angels; as Balder, they’d fight against demons. Each of these parts would show the story unfolding from its main character’s point of view, until the very end when they converge and start working together. That itself might not be new information, though… It’s an idea from five years ago, after all, so I might’ve spilled the beans about it somewhere along the line.

Head on over to PlatinumGames’ site here for some “forbidden knowledge” about the game. It includes details about where to buy super-secret items and characters, where to stock up on Halos, and Tag Climax move lists for Rodin and Balder.

The Bayonetta amiibo was announced last December, but we haven’t heard anything about it since. Fans have been left wondering when we’ll finally be seeing it.

There is good news to report finally, as the figure is still on the way. Bayonetta 2 director Yusuke Hashimoto just made a new post on the PlatinumGames website teasing the amiibo, and noted that the team is “still working hard to get her just right.” For now, we’re only left with the image above.

It goes without saying that Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional is the original game, though with some new content. Numerous characters from past Joker games will be present as well as popular monsters from previous titles. Square Enix is also packing in new scenarios. After Nintendo revealed Super Mario Run last week, a bunch of outlets were able to speak with designer Shigeru Miyamoto about the game. Yahoo is one such outlet that now has an interview up.

During the discussion, Miyamoto talked a bit about Super Mario Run’s origins and the opportunity of Mario impacting a bigger audience. He also shared a comment about the continued importance of consoles to Nintendo.

Continue on below for notable excerpts from the interview. To read the full talk between Miyamoto and Yahoo, head on over here.

In a recent issue of Famitsu, the magazine had a massive interview with Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino. The discussion covered the company’s Level-5 Vision 2016 event, plus specific games: The Snack World, Lady Layton, Megaton Musashi, and Inazuma Eleven Ares.

It starts out with Famitsu talking about how there’s a theme each time a Level-5 Vision is held. This time around, it’s “New Heroes”. Hino notes that it’s probably just the company’s usual practice of deciding themes and holding announcement events.

Nintendo Everything was at this year’s Tokyo Game Show! We had a low-key presence at the event, but we did manage to try out several upcoming Japanese 3DS titles. Look for our impressions in the coming days.

One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum is a 3DS fighting game developed by Arc System Works for Bandai Namco. It will be released soon in Japan on September 21, but there was a demo available at Tokyo Game Show 2016 and we were able to try it out. However, we were limited to CPU battles.

Although One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum will have many playable and assist characters, not all of them were available in the TGS demo. For example, the only available Straw Hats were Luffy, Sanji, and Franky. One side can either pick two main characters and two assist characters, or substitute the assist character slots for a third main character.

On Thursday, NPD released a chart for the top ten best-selling games in the United States during August. Nintendo has since commented on its own performance.

According to Nintendo, the “excitement for the Pokemon brand” led to a big increase in sales of its handheld line. The 2DS experienced a 500 percent bump in 2DS sales year-over-year while 3DS hardware also rose by 83 percent.

With software, physical and digital first-party 3DS sales increased by 57 percent. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire were both on the software charts.

Nintendo also shared some positive news about Wii U. Software sales on the console were up 30 percent in the U.S. last month.
