Oricon is known for putting out music charts and in Japan. Based on information that they’ve shared, it looks like the Splatoon soundtrack sold 24,355 during its first day of availability. It was actually the second best-selling album as a whole, falling only behind Arashi’s Japonism.

Nintendo UK sent out a new press release which shares additional details about Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival. We hae information about another mode, Happy Home Designer functionality, and more. Additionally, we have a bunch of screenshots from the game as well. Find today’s content below.

21st October, 2015 – Get ready to take your friends and family to Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, launching exclusively for Wii U on 20th November. Take part in a digital board game set in the charming world of Animal Crossing, a series where players live in a unique and evolving town, make friends with the animal villagers and live life at their own leisure. Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival invites up to four players – and their brand new amiibo – to a board that evolves as you play.

By using amiibo figures from the Animal Crossing series*, players can take control of fan-favourite characters like Isabelle, Tom Nook and K.K. and watch them come to life as they travel across the board, trying to collect as many Happy Points as possible. Players tap their amiibo figure to the Wii U GamePad to roll the dice and move along the board, with each space involving their character in a short sketch. These sketches see the characters star in quirky adventures around the town, whether it’s singing at the station for more Bells (the local currency in Animal Crossing), taking a trip to the shops, or visiting the town’s museum. Sketches don’t just affect your Bells and Happy Points, but show the world of Animal Crossing and its inhabitants in fun new ways that are sure to put a grin on everyone’s face.

Thanks to dataminers NWPlayer123 and DrLilrobot, a little bit of new content from Splatoon has leaked. What was recently found appears to come from the game’s 2.2.0 update.

To avoid spoiling anything, we won’t be showing any specifics on the homepage. Head past the break for more details!

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water sees the return of a series that has been dormant since Mask of the Lunar Eclipse’s release in 2008 for Wii. Sure, there have been a few spinoffs since then – most notably Spirit Camera on 3DS back in 2012 – but it’s been a while since we’ve seen any mainline entries, especially considering Maiden of Black Water would be the first Fatal Frame released outside of Japan since Fatal Frame III: The Tormented in 2005. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water takes a different approach mechanically and gameplay-wise than any of the other releases in the franchise, yet it still very much stays true to form delivering a great horror experience that we seldom see on Nintendo consoles.

I just couldn’t wait for the European release next year, so I spent the last month memorising Japanese PokĂ©mon names and diving into the import version of PokĂ©mon Super Mystery Dungeon. The following are my impressions after playing through the main storyline, although there seems to be a massive amount of stuff to do after the credits. Don’t worry, I’ll keep it spoiler-free in posting my thoughts on the Japanese version of PokĂ©mon Super Mystery Dungeon. Yes, not the one that that’s being released in America – I can’t stress that enough. Ain’t no embargos being broken here.

It’s that time again, folks! The 3DS has received a new firmware update, though keeping in line with the last few upgrades, it doesn’t do much.

Today’s 3DS update is once again about improving system stability and making other small adjustments. There are no new features to report. Per usual, you’ll need the update in order to access the eShop.
