Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight coming to North America on August 4
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight is launching in North America on August 4, Atlus has announced. Like all of the company’s games, this one will be sold both in stores and on the eShop.
For those who haven’t heard about Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight previously, here’s a handy overview:
The first-person dungeon crawler from the classic Etrian franchise is updated with an all-new standalone story, complete with voiced characters who must adventure through the mysterious forest labyrinth and the ruins of Ginnungagap, where they may uncover the secret origins of the Fafnir Knight and his power to transform and use demonic powers.
The story mode is only half of the game, as Classic mode will allow players to play in the traditional Etrian fashion – by putting a party together from 13 unique classes and then clawing through dungeons to prove your mettle. Introduced in the first Untold game, both Classic and Story modes allow players to choose their own difficulty, from Picnic to Expert.
The choice of whether to start with Story or Classic mode will be up to you, when Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight launches on August 4!
Along with today’s release date announcement, Atlus released a new cooking video for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight. You can watch it below.

A look at Splatoon’s upcoming battle stages

Just like with the Splatoon weapons “leak”, we have a look at the game’s upcoming battle stages thanks to the new Prima guide. Bluefin Depot, Kelp Dome, Camp Triggerfish, and Port Mackerel are all shown. These stages will be added to Splatoon over the next few months.
Update: Confirmed – A look at Splatoon’s upcoming weapons

Update: Bumped to the top. This has now left rumor status, and is now confirmed. A second person has come forward with the guide and notes that the image above is indeed in there.

Splatoon will be updated with new content over the next few months. Nintendo will be adding in new modes, maps, and more. Additional weapons are also on the way, and we may have our first look as to what’s planned for the future – including one inspired by the NES Zapper.
The image above is making the rounds on 4Chan and Reddit today. Rumor has it that it’s a photo taken from Prima’s new guide. That guide should be officially released in the very near future, so we should know if there’s any truth to this speculation very soon.

Splatoon was released yesterday in Japan and it seems like the game is being incredibly well received as copies are already hard to come by. On its official Japanese Twitter account, Nintendo issued an apology and promised that additional shipments will be delivered to stores next week. Meanwhile, they urge customers to purchase the digital version if they can’t wait. Nintendo also intends to produce more Splatoon amiibo, which are similarly hard to get.

Splatoon is officially launching in just a matter of minutes, so we’re giving this one final bump!
Finally we’ve come upon the day when Splatoon reviews are allowed to be posted. Here’s a 15 minute video with a whole lot of what I thought about the game; would you believe me if I said this was edited down from a thirty minute video? I could seriously make a 60 minute video about this game honestly. Maybe I will someday.
Our complete video review is below. Hit the break for the summary, recommendation, and rating.

Nintendo teamed up with Koei Tecmo for Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3’s Japanese release last year. By playing an eShop demo, players could access costumes based on Link and Zelda from Hyrule Warriors.
Unfortunately, Koei Tecmo won’t be offering these items in next month’s western version. The company told Siliconera that “those costumes are Japan-exclusive”.
