Game Informer has put up an insightful interview with Retro Studios CEO Michael Kelbaugh and Nintendo producer Kensuke Tanabe. The two spoke about how the game’s delay benefited development, revealed Monster Games’ involvement with the project, talked about the possibility of a 3DS version, and more. Tanabe also teased, “we may consider not just the Donkey Kong Country series but a broader range of possibilities for Retro’s next project.”

Update: More retailers – The Wonderful 101 down to $30 at Target, GameStop

Update (12/24/13): The Wonderful 101 is now down to $30 on Amazon and Best Buy as well.
Target and GameStop are both selling The Wonderful 101 for $29.99 – 50% off the regular price. Ordering online isn’t an option unfortunately, though you can grab the same in-store. Amazon also has The Wonderful 101 for about $35 if you’re looking for an online option – still a great deal.
Warner Bros. teases “special announcement” for Batman coming December 31

Through its Facebook page, Warner Bros. has teased a “special announcement” pertaining to Batman. A note left on the official Batman Arkham Facebook page confirms some sort of reveal set to take place next Tuesday.
The message states:
Visit this page on December 31st for a special announcement…more details to come next week!
Not quite sure what Warner Bros. is up to here. It seems too early for a new Batman game announcement…

Two prominent Nintendo EAD Tokyo staffers worked on NES Remix

indieszero made NES Remix, but Nintendo was still very much involved with the game’s development. In fact, two prominent staffers from EAD Tokyo contributed to the project.
Koichi Hayashida, director of Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D Land, served as director. We found out about this previously through a message Hayashia posted on Miiverse.
Yoshiaki Koizumi also worked on NES Remix as producer. Koizumi previously directed Super Mario Galaxy and produced Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3D Land, and Super Mario 3D World.

Tomoya Asano talks Bravely Default SP Drinks, wants new entry at least once a year, more

Dengeki recently had the opportunity to interview Tomoya Asano, producer of Bravely Default and Bravely Second. The Japanese outlet asked about SP Drinks, Bravely Second’s development status, and more. Asano also revealed at one point that he hopes “to release a game for the Bravely series at least once a year.”
