[Review] Samurai Warriors 5
Posted on 3 years ago by Dennis Gagliardotto(@LyonHart_) in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: July 27, 2021
Developer: Omega Force
Publisher: Koei Tecmo
The Warriors-labeled series (also known as Musou) has gone in various directions both visually and mechanically. Being the sister title to the more famous Dynasty Warriors, it has been one such property that has also seen numbered entries, spinoffs, and crossovers. In the case of Samurai Warriors 5, this marks the first numbered game in seven years as well as a soft reboot of sorts with a new art direction and a wonderful streamlined system that makes it the most intuitive and accessible title in the series to date. And thanks to a slew of new features, it’s also one of the most enjoyable Musou experiences in quite some time on Switch.

Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Con may have fixed Joy-Con drift
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Update: It seems that the strips have apparently been present in Joy-Con after all, as noted by Spawn Wave. Hopes of an official fix for drift seem to have been dashed for now.
Also Nintendo seems to have been doing this for a little while now at least, my yellow Joycon from a couple years ago also has it pic.twitter.com/zmFSfU3gmn

Original: One issue Switch owners seem to encounter more than any other is Joy-Con drift. After extended use, some people notice that their controller recognizes input when the joystick isn’t actually being moved. It can cause some pretty obvious frustration since the Joy-Con essentially aren’t working as intended.
The situation has plagued Nintendo since Switch launched over four years ago. Multiple color variations of the Joy-Con have been released, but each one has come with the same Joy-Con drift problem. Now, however, some are thinking that things may have been addressed with the latest design.

[Review] Cris Tales

System: Switch
Release date: July 20, 2021
Developer: SYCK / Dreams Uncorporated
Publisher: Modus Games
Cris Tales may have wowed us with its first few showings – colorful and whimsical animations, an interesting time-travel mechanic that not only works throughout the adventure but also in battle, and a friendly top-hat garnished frog friend that rides on your shoulder to give you tips on your powers and progression hints? Certainly, this is an unorthodox recipe, but what does Cris Tales turn out to be when all is said and done?

Nintendo leak reveals a ton pitched titles for Revolution, before it was known as Wii
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
The Wii name is pretty recognizable these days, but that wasn’t always the case. When Nintendo first made that name known to the world, it received quite a bit of criticism. Some even felt that the original “Revolution” codename would have been a better fit.
Just like any major company does before introducing a new product, Nintendo considered a ton of different names originally. And now thanks to this week’s leaks, we’re able to see the many different titles that were brainstormed at one point or another. It turns out that there were well over 100.

Valve on Switch and Steam Deck comparisons, says they were designed around differing philosophies
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Switch | 0 comments
Last week, Valve unveiled its new Steam Deck system. The device has drawn plenty of comparisons to Switch since it’s capable of playing big games on the go (with docking support as well) and in some ways reminds gamers of Nintendo’s console from a design standpoint.
Valve itself has now commented on those comparisons. Designer Greg Coomer is the first to weigh in, telling IGN that Switch a “great device,” but feels the company is targeting a different audience.
He said:
