Nintendo has announced its plans and lineup for this year’s PAX West. To say that the company has a lot in store would probably be an understatement.

The first highlight concerns playable games. Super Mario Odyssey will be playable, along with NBA 2K18 and Rocket League for the first time. FIFA 18 and Pokken Tournament DX will be on hand as well.

Sonic Forces

Famitsu is currently hosting a live stream, and featured Sonic Forces with new gameplay. Among what was shown was a first look at the Tag Team stages. We’ve included the relevant recording below.

Nintendo has prepared a new trailer for Metroid: Samus Returns just in time for Gamescom. You can give it a look below.

Nintendo’s Metroid: Samus Returns presentation at Gamescom 2017 just wrapped up. Quite a bit was shown, including boss battles with the new Diggernaut and Omega Metroid.

Nintendo also teased that by meeting certain conditions, you can unlock visuals known as the “Chozo Memories”. These tell the storyline of what happened on SR388 and what the Chozo did. Further teased is a “surprising secret” involving the memories.

Telltale Games has been hinting at and teasing more games for Switch. On top of that, retailers have been listing some of the company’s products for Nintendo platforms. Things are heating up even further now.

In an interview with Rocket Beans TV, Telltale’s Job Stauffer suggested that Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman, and Minecraft: Story Mode – Season Two are all coming to Switch. He said:

“Minecraft, the first game, came out today. I think you can expect to see other titles like Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy, maybe Minecraft Season 2 in the future.”

Nintendo is back once again with a live stream at Gamescom. The company’s day 3 activities will be kicking off in just under a half hour. You can watch everything as it happens below, including a Metroid: Samus Returns presentation with Yoshio Sakamoto and MercurySteam’s José Luis Márquez in about 90 minutes.

In the past, Atlus has worked with outside companies to publish and distribute its games in Europe. Past partners include NIS America and Koch. Today, however, games will be handled internally.

GamesIndustry reports that a new team has been created, which will allow Atlus to be in charge of the European publishing of its own titles. They’ll be located in SEGA Europe’s offices in London. This will allow Atlus to better support fans with special edition sets and products that are extended to North America and other markets.

Famitsu has a new feature on Sonic Forces this week. Along with announcing a November 9 launch for Japan, the magazine provides details about the game itself, including the Hero Character and new Tag Team stages.

One of the aspects Famitsu covers is avatar customization. In addition to choosing between the seven species, you can also set the gender, skin color, and face to your liking. Each Hero Character species will have its own unique gameplay abilities. For example, Wolves can pull in surrounding rings.

Update: The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle season pass will cost $19.99.


Original: Ubisoft announced post-launch plans for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle today. New weapons, solo challenges, co-op maps and brand new story content are on the way.

Players will be able to purchase a season pass next week. It’ll include the following DLC:

– 8 unique steampunk weapons will be available at the launch of the game, each one with its own statistics. These items will be exclusive for season pass owners.
– This autumn, players will be able to test their skills with new solo challenges, or with a friend, through additional co-op maps.
– In 2018, players will be able to play through brand new story content.

Ubisoft will begin distributing the season pass for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle on August 29.

Sonic Forces

Sonic Forces has been dated for Japan. In the latest issue of Famitsu, the magazine reveals a release date of November 9.

We’re still waiting for Sonic Forces’ release date in other territories. It should be around the beginning of September, however.
