Apex Legends

The long-awaited Switch version of Apex Legends finally has a release date. The game will launch on March 9 in the west and March 10 in Japan, EA and Respawn have announced.

All Switch players will be given 30 free levels for the Season 8 Battle Pass. You can also earn double XP by playing the Switch version between March 9 and March 23.

In Japan, a “Champion Edition” is planned for retail on March 18.

Niantic has shared details on the upcoming Lunar New Year event in Pokemon GO. It will feature various red Pokemon, lucky bonuses, and Timed Research featuring Tauros to tie in with the Year of the Ox. Additionally, Gyarados will be able to Mega Evolve for the first time in the mobile game.

We’re still waiting to hear when exactly Apex Legends is landing on Switch, but a new wireless controller based on the game is arriving very soon. In fact, it’s popped up on Amazon with a February 3 release date – that would be tomorrow.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

EA and BioWare are bringing back the Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect Legendary Edition. While there’s no news on a Switch version at present, it’s something that hasn’t been ruled out entirely.

Moonlighter has received a new update, which is described as “a substantial stability patch”. The game is now at version 1.0.0.9.

Nintendo Switch

Virtuos, the studio behind several Switch ports and Switch versions of multiplatform titles, has hinted at more support to come later this year.

In an interview with Nintendo Life, managing director of games Christophe Gandon mentioned that the company is “excited about new projects on the horizon for this summer and beyond”. That came about while discussing how Switch has now outsold the 3DS and is Nintendo’s fifth best-selling console of all time.

Dogworld

Lateralis has announced that Dogworld, a run-and-gun Metroidvania shooter, is on the way to Switch. The game should appear on Nintendo’s console later in 2021.
