On Miiverse, Nostatic Software mentioned that an update is planned for PixelMaker. Users will have access to more options for inserting text into images, such as additional fonts, configurable text, and the ability to outline text.

Gamer “Requag” has taken on the task of recreating Pokemon FireRed in Minecraft. It runs through a virtual Game Boy Advance by using structure blocks, which are designed for map makers.

The project isn’t finished just yet. Functions like combat and dialogue aren’t included at this time, but they should be added in later on.

To test out Pokemon FireRed in Minecraft, players need version 1.10 of the game.

Two commercials are in for Aikatsu Stars! First Appeal, the Japanese free-to-play eShop game that will proceed the full title Aikatsu Stars! My Special Appeal. Both can be seen below.

Yesterday, Aksys Games revealed at Anime Expo that the company is localizing Chase: Cold Case Investigations. That wasn’t the only 3DS announcement made at the panel though. Aksys is also planning on bringing over the sequel to Ninja Usagimaru: The Gem of Blessings.

The first Ninja Usagimaru launched in North America and Europe last year. It has players going through various levels and rescuing villagers in various levels by overcoming traps and gimmicks. The new game builds on the foundation of the original.

More off-screen Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice footage has emerged. In addition to showing more of the Ice World, we also get a look at the opening. View the video below.

Red Column has determined that 3Souls – Episode 1: Nelesa will release in Europe on July 28. North America will follow “a few weeks later”.

The first episode will be priced at €3.60 / £3.20 / $3.90. Additional episodes (2 and 3) will have lower prices.

3Souls makes use of the GamePad for gameplay, and a co-op mode incorporates the use of a Wii Remote or Wii U Pro Controller.

Later this month, Splatoon will be holding its very final Splatfest. The news prompted some players to be concerned about the future of the shooter’s online gameplay in general. Thankfully, there’s nothing to fear. Nintendo told Kotaku that Splatoon’s “general online experience and service will continue.”

The last Splatfest will be held around the world beginning on July 22 for a full two days. Players are being asked to choose between the two Squid Sisters: Callie or Marie.
