Today, Game Informer put up a lengthy interview with Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami and lead programmer Shintaro Sato. Plenty was discussed here, including Salmon Run, letting players share art and messages, Splatfests, how much content will be available at launch, why voice chat is limited to friends / other familiar people, and music. There were other topics sprinkled in as well.

Game Informer caught up with two of the developers working on Metroid: Samus Returns at this year’s E3. The site spoke with Nintendo producer Yoshio Sakamoto and José Luis Márquez of MercurySteam.

During the conversations, there was talk about why Metroid II is being remade and bringing back 2D Metroid. Sakamoto was also asked to clarify the story of making Samus female at the end of the original Metroid.

Following its appearance in the Nintendo Spotlight presentation at E3, the official Japanese Xenoblade Chronicles 2 website opened. Even if you don’t know a lick of Japanese, it’s worth visiting since it contains four pieces of music from the game.

The page also introduces the world’s concept, some of the terms and characters used in the game. You can find a full translation of that below.

‘Arst’, world concealed by an ocean of clouds

There are numerous creatures living within the cloud ocean, this especially enormous creature is called a “Titan”
(Ars).
Humans have created a settlement on top of Ars.

* Note: Nintendo Treehouse used the term “Titan” for the giant creatures in the game.

‘Blade’

A variant life-form born when a human touches a core crystal.
Blade are born along with a weapon, dedicating their existence to the human that created them and growing alongside them. They’re cleaving a path through the conflict.

Not one, but two new trailers for Ever Oasis came out this week. Along with the E3 2017 trailer sent out a couple of days ago, there’s also a new “Chief” trailer. Have a look at it below.

The latest issue of Weekly Jump teases the 3DS-exclusive StreetPass feature in Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time, as well as introduces eight new monsters.

The latest issue of Jump has another update on Dragon Quest XI. This time around, the game’s StreetPass feature is teased.

Here’s what we know:

– StreetPass involves mysterious creatures known as “Incarnations of Time”
– It seems that players can visit a village where the Yocchi tribe of these creatures live
– There is also a screenshot showing a number of different colored Yocchi fighting with different weapons
– As for what will happen by passing other players, what sorts of facilities exist in Yocchi Village
– June 26 issue will talk about the Yocchi’s actual purpose

The latest issue of Jump also introduces new characters. They are as follows:

 

  • Slot Machine – A man who wanted to win at the slots, turned into a slot monster.
  • Drum Goat – A chubby monster and master of the drum. It plays the drum and summons monsters.
  • Fairy Bat – A bat that takes advantage of its cute appearance to attack its enemies with charm.
  • Ghost Parasol – Attacks humans who pick it up mistaking it as an umbrella with its sharp claw.
  • Ebi Metal – A monster whose thick, hard shell protects it like metal, which an ordinary sword stands no chance against.
  • Drago Bishop – A leader of the dragon world, whose wealth of knowledge makes it a skilled teacher.
  • Megaton Keil – A monster who makes various poses to show off its muscles.
  • She-Golem – A golem made of coral, said to have been made as a destructive weapon long ago.

The developers of Minecraft have big plans in store for the game. Towards the end of the year, players on different systems will be able to connect with cross-platform play, and servers are coming to consoles. Listen to some of the developers of Minecraft discussing these new features below.
