Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate sold through 85% of its initial shipment

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate sold nearly 1.5 million copies during its Japanese launch. Media Create reports that 85.40 percent of copies were sold.
How does that stack up to the original Monster Hunter 4? That title sold 1,715,060 copies with a 91.96 percent sell-through rate. 4 Ultimate managed to sell roughly 80 percent of what its predecessor did at launch.
Media Create believes that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate won’t sell two million copies at retail until its third week or later. Meanwhile, the first Monster Hunter 4 reached 2,188,799 copies sold after two weeks.

Nintendo sold 19,000 New 3DS face plates for the Japanese launch

It was revealed earlier this week that the New 3DS sold over 200,000 units for its Japanese launch. Media Create provides a bit more insight with some tidbits about the performance of the face plates.
According to Media Create, roughly 19,000 face plates were sold at launch. Popular face plates include the two Monster Hunter ones, Yoshi face plate, and the wood grain face plate (#24).

Bandai Namco on why Pokken Tournament is being made for arcade first

Prior to Pokken Tournament’s announcement, many gamers assumed that the title would be confirmed for Wii U. That didn’t happen though, as it’s only for arcades at present.
In an interview with Japanese website 4Gamer, Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada explained why Pokken Tournament is hitting arcades first. When 4Gamer said that Pokemon is considered family-oriented and that this isn’t necessarily the same for arcades, Harada responded:

Akaoni Studios’ Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX is locked in for an October 30 release date in Europe, it would seem. That news comes courtesy of a listing on the Wii U eShop. At launch, the game will be available for €5.00.

Update: The official Oddworld Inhabitants Twitter account just issued the following message on Twitter over concerns that the Wii U version has been cancelled:
New 'n' Tasty is not cancelled on Wii U. We are currently having challenges with the platform that we are striving to overcome.

Regarding Wii U, while supporting the 8GB model is a consideration, it is neither a dealbreaker nor the only challenge.

The Wii U version of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty seems to be facing a bit of trouble.
During the latest episode of the Fragments of Silicon podcast, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning mentioned that the team is “having challenges without having a hard disk”. However, he quickly added: “we’re trying to overcome those challenges.”
Lanning went on to say that he’s “desperate to be on Nintendo” and feels that “Oddworld will resonate well” with the Nintendo audience.

European 3DS eShop lists October 30 release date for Shin Megami Tensei IV

Shin Megami Tensei IV’s long journey to Europe is almost over. The 3DS eShop is listing an October 30 release date along with a €19.99 price point. While not officially confirmed by Atlus, eShop listings are generally accurate these days.
