Dragon Quest XI did not appear during the Dragon Quest 30th Anniversary Project Presentation. Instead, Square Enix opted to give fans a small update on its progress.

Series creator Yuji Horii stated that the story is mostly complete. As Dragon Quest’s anniversary runs through May 27, 2017, it sounds like the plan is to have XI ready by then if possible.

During today’s Dragon Quest 30th Anniversary Project Presentation, Square Enix announced a demo for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3. Specifics weren’t revealed, though it will be distributed on the eShop in early March. We also have a look at the final boxart – see the image above.

Update: Right out of the gate, no Dragon Quest XI news. Well, that’s that!

Update: Bumped to the top. This appears to apply to other items as well like the Lucas and Animal Crossing amiibo. Updated the link below.

Amazon has once again discounted game pre-orders for Prime members, and the selection and savings appear to be bigger than ever before. Zelda Wii U, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and Fire Emblem Fates are all eligible for 20 percent off at checkout. The same goes for the upcoming Dragon Quest 3DS remakes, Bravely Second, and more.

You can find the full selection here. It’s not yet known how long these discounts will last, and if they were intentional.

This week’s issue of Famitsu has quite a bit of Nintendo coverage. The magazine announced Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages, and there’s also an article on Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. A teaser on Famitsu’s website confirms more coverage of Monster Hunter Stories as well, which we should have scans of tomorrow.

Japanese websites also have some photos up of Monster Hunter Stories from Monster Hunter Festa this past weekend where the game received a new trailer (and apparently an on-stage demo). Find some off-screen images below.

Some of the images give us a look at character customization. Additionally, Monster Hunter Stories will have scenery that we don’t really see in other entries, such as sakura trees. Each monster will also have unique movements like how Lagombi can slide with its body.

Monster Hunter Stories’ anime, covered here previously, will have 52 episodes on Fuji TV. It is being produced in parallel with the game, and the show’s storyline will develop on its own in a different way.
