[Review] Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
Posted on 4 years ago by Dennis Gagliardotto(@LyonHart_) in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: November 20, 2020
Developer: Koei Tecmo / Omega Force
Publisher: Nintendo
In true Musou/Warriors fashion, the original Hyrule Warriors was Koei Tecmo’s take on a completely original story that introduced new characters like Lana, Cia, and Linkle and saw a darker, more mature take on the Zelda IP. Omega Force used the studio’s hack-and-slash prowess to give us one of the most intense and action-oriented Zelda titles to date, and now the follow-up takes us back – way back – to long before the Calamity plagued Hyrule in the timeline of Breath of the Wild. The game brings with it the usual Musou greatness Omega Force is known for while featuring Breath of the Wild’s aesthetic and storyline instead of the more stylized Musou approach that we saw with the original Hyrule Warriors.
Persona 5 Strikers not getting a demo in the west, English voices recorded remotely

Around the release of Persona 5 Strikers in Japan, Atlus released a demo on the Switch eShop. Unfortunately, it appears that there won’t be anything similar for the west. Atlus said that there are currently no plans for a demo in North America and Europe.
Regarding the voice acting, it turns out that this was all done remotely in light of the pandemic that’s taken place this year. Those that prefer the Japanese voices will still have that as an option.
Persona 5 Strikers releases for Switch in the west on February 23, 2021.

No one could have predicted a couple of years ago that both Ori games would end up on Switch, yet that’s exactly what happened. Moon Studios managed to bring Ori and the Blind Forest over in September 2019. It was followed a year later by the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
Moon Studios co-founder Gennadiy Korol and lead artist Daniel van Leeuwen recently spoke with Nintendo Everything about the challenging task of bringing Ori and the Will of the Wisps to Switch. We also got to speak with Jon M. Gibson and Amanda White from iam8bit – the game’s publisher – who spoke discussed the special physical release, Switch sales and reception, and more.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps, just like the original game in the series, is out now on Switch. Moon Studios surprised fans by announcing and releasing the port as part of a Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase earlier this year.
In an interview with Nintendo Everything, Moon Studios co-founder Gennadiy Korol spoke more about the experience of bringing Ori and the Will of the Wisps to Switch. Initially, the team was initially unsure if 60 frames per second would be technically possible without a big quality loss. You might be surprised to hear that “even with heavily compromised visuals”, the port was at just 24 FPS in the beginning.
Korol stated:
