Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons datamining has already led to the finding of what appears to be the steps for upgrading Nook’s Cranny. Ninji, who made that original discovery, today shared another batch of interesting information pertaining to the Switch title.

Ninji has been poking through the files and code for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which may hint at some upcoming features. We’ve rounded up the various tidbits below. Of course, if you’re not interested in potentially being spoiled in any way, keep that in mind before proceeding.

Unravel Two is currently available on Switch via the eShop. The same can’t be said of the series’ first entry, but perhaps that could be changing soon.

Over in Brazil, Unravel 1 was recently rated for Switch. The classification was just added to the official database on April 17. The only slightly confusing part of the rating is that PS4, Xbox One, and PC are also included from this same day despite being available on all three platforms since 2016.

Here’s an overview of Unravel, along with a trailer:

Nintendo’s maintenance schedule for this week looks a lot like the one from last week. As previously announced, there will be downtime involving the distribution of update data for Switch.

The full schedule is as follows:

Square Enix is currently running a special sale on the Switch eShop. If you pre-order Trials of Mana, you can get Collection of Mana for 70 percent off. That means the price should drop down to $11.99 as opposed to $39.99.

Trials of Mana launches for Switch on April 23. A demo for the game is out now on the eShop. As a bonus, those who buy the game through May 21 can receive the Rabite Adorment DLC to receive more EXP after battles up to level 10.

Paper Mario is in a much different place now than where it was when the series first started out on the N64. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems originally made a pure RPG experience. Since though, that’s changed significantly.

After Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, the franchise went in a different direction with Super Paper Mario. The Wii game focused less on RPG mechanics and more on platforming. Things then took another turn with Paper Mario: Sticker Star. The sticker mechanic unfortunately wasn’t well received, and the battles didn’t really have much of an importance. Many of Sticker Stars’ ideas then carried over into Paper Mario: Color Splash… and that’s where things end – at least for now.

Ahead of next week’s launch, Square Enix has prepared a new Japanese commercial for Trials of Mana. Find the advert below.
