Switch

Nintendo is bringing back the Splatoon 2 Switch bundle in Japan. It will be sold once again starting July 21 for 35,960 yen.

The bundle comes with a Switch system (including Joy-Con), a copy of Splatoon 2, and stickers. But something else has also been added: a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. A three-month ticket can be redeemed when the service launches in September.

Splatoon 2 is celebrating its first anniversary with a global Splatfest. The event itself will be hosted during the weekend of July 20 / 21, though you’ll be able to choose a side two weeks prior.

As for the topic, players will be asked if they prefer squids or octopus. Everyone on Team Squid will battle as Inklings. You’ll be able to play as an Octoling if you choose Team Octopus, even if you don’t have the Octo Expansion.

Telltale Games announced The Walking Dead: The Final Season for Switch not too long ago. But if you haven’t played the previous seasons on other platforms, it might have less of an impact. Fans have therefore been hoping that the other titles would land on Switch as well.

Perhaps Telltale has been listening, as European retailer MediaMarkt is listing The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2 for Switch. In fact, the second listing even includes a boxart. This isn’t a confirmation, but it’s certainly a good sign that we’ll be getting more of The Walking Dead on Switch.

Both listings have an August 31 release date. Though even if the listings are trustworthy, that date could just be temporary.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy reached new formats last week. Interestingly, it’s the fastest selling Switch game released this year. The £30 price tag may play a factor in that.

The Xbox One and Switch versions of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy came in at first and second on the UK charts this week. However, the Switch edition only sold 250 fewer copies.

We have a couple of other tidbits regarding the latest UK sales as well. Mario Tennis Aces’ sales dipped by 53%, though GamesIndustry says that’s “decent performance for a game in its second week on shelves.” Harvest Moon: A Light of Hope, which debuted in the UK just a few days ago, had 78% of its sales on Switch in comparison to 22% on the PlayStation 4.

Thanks to Arison for the tip.
