A.N.N.E managed to reach its Kickstarter goal just a short while ago. Developer Gamesbymo managed to secure the full $70,000 for the project.

The Wii U stretch goal is still within sight. Within the next ten days, Gamesbymo will need to raise a total of $150,000 to absolutely guarantee the game for Nintendo’s console. Something tells me that the Wii U won’t be completely out of the question if the stretch goal isn’t hit, but it’d be nice to see it reached in any case!

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Animal Crossing: New Leaf will both be available through the eShop on their respective launch days. But if you’d prefer not to enter credit card information or redeem eShop codes, there is an alternative.

Best Buy is listing digital download versions of both Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The retailer will hand out codes that can be redeemed on the eShop.

So there you go – yet another option for downloading retail games digitally.

Dark Tonic Games is now an official Wii U developer. The company is planning two games for the eShop: a zombie defense tower title and another that “combines the craziness of games like Godzilla Destroy All Monsters and Power Stone for a fresh take on a Rampage-style game of multiplayer city destruction, with a bit of Earth Defense Force providing a completely different way to play the game.”

Creative director Eric Boosman gave an overview as to what Wii U owners can expect from the studio’s games while speaking with Nintendo Life:

We have a couple of games planned that really take advantage of the Wii U’s unique asymmetrical control possibilities and offer up some fresh gameplay.

One combines the craziness of games like Godzilla Destroy All Monsters and Power Stone for a fresh take on a Rampage-style game of multiplayer city destruction, with a bit of Earth Defense Force providing a completely different way to play the game.
