505 Games and ArtPlay have released a new story trailer for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Check out the video below.
Those who pledged $60 or more on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Kickstarter can access a new beta demo on PC. It offers “refined content and features, while previewing new enemies and NPCs and taking a deeper look at game narrative and quests.” Alchemy and crafting functionality is included, and players will be able to visit shopkeeper/exorcist Dominique to stock up on various goods.
The nominees for the “Best of E3 2018” Game Critics Awards have been announced. Smash Bros. Ultimate is eligible for three different categories, including “Best of Show”. Other titles such as Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee are here as well.

DigiPen Game Studios has announced that it is releasing TurtlePop: Journey to Freedom Tuned Edition, a new update to the Switch platform puzzle game. It’s out now for all players.
Today’s update features a number of enhancements. These include reduced difficulty in certain stages, lowered cooldown time on all items, increased time limit for some stages, and more.
TurtlePop: Journey to Freedom is currently on sale for $12.99.

Switch offers two completely different play styles. You can choose to dock it like a home console, or take the gaming experience anywhere with portable play.
Interestingly, it seems the two are being used at a similar rate. Nintendo senior VP for sales and marketing Doug Bowser told Ars that the split between the two modes is “about even – about 50 percent in the dock and 50 percent away from the dock.” Undocked includes tabletop play as well as fully handheld play. Bowser added that Nintendo doesn’t keep track of which “undocked” mode a player is using.
During the Wii era, one of the most successful third-party releases at the time was Carnival Games. It turned out to be a million seller and also spawned a pair of sequels. Over 9.5 million copies have been sold across all Carnival Games titles.
The same franchise is making a return on Switch later this year, 2K announced today. Simply titled Carnival Games, the latest entry has been built from the ground up for Nintendo’s console and “can be played alone or with up to four players simultaneously, leveraging the unique accessibility of the console’s Joy-Con controllers.” 20 games will be included.
We finally have an update on ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove, which was delayed several months ago. HumaNature Studios has announced a planned fall launch for the game.
HumaNature Studios has also decided to part ways with publisher Adult Swim Games under mutual terms. Instead, the developer will be self-publishing. ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is nearly ready for certification on Switch, so it isn’t too far off.
Level-5 published the first trailer for Layton’s Mystery Journey DX, the new Switch version of the original game released last year. Watch it below.
In conjunction with Dengeki PlayStation, Gust intends to hold a special broadcast for Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists in just a couple of weeks. It’ll air at the following times on YouTube:
– 5 AM PT
– 8 AM ET
– 1 PM in the UK
– 2 PM in Europe
Koei Tecmo producer Junzo Hosoi and development producer Keisuke Kikuchi will be on hand for the event. Illustrators Mel Kishida and NOCO along with voice actors Mai Kadowaki and Satomi Akesaka will be present as well. We’ll likely be seeing footage of the game, but a few “surprises” have been teased as well.
Two more Legendary Pokemon distributions are planned for Pokemon Ultra Sun, Pokemon Ultra Moon, Pokemon Sun, and Pokemon Moon. Thundurus and Tornadus will be offered during July.
In North America, these two Pokemon will be distributed exclusively at Target. The retailer will have them between July 13 and July 28.
