Over the past few years, the toys-to-life market seemed to be on the way out. Disney Infinity is dead. LEGO Dimensions hasn’t seen as much content as it once did. Activision also didn’t have a new Skylanders in 2017 for the first time in many years.

So at E3, it was somewhat surprising to see Ubisoft announce Starlink. And while Activision doesn’t have something completely new for Skylanders this year, it sounds like they’re still committed to the series.

In an interview with GamesIndustry, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg had this to say about the state of Skylanders and the overall toys-to-life market:

The Neon Green/Neon Pink Joy-Con have a new release date in Europe, and they’re arriving much earlier than expected. Nintendo announced on Twitter today that the controllers are slated for July 28.

The Neon Green/Neon Pink Joy-Con were announced during the ARMS Direct. At the time, they were planned for a fall release.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be a pretty small download on Switch. According to a listing on the European eShop, just 2.3GB of free space will be required.

Aside from the file size, there isn’t much else in the listing worth noting. amiibo support is once again confirmed, but as was the case in June, it’s still unclear how it will be supported.

Nicalis has been a roll with physical versions of Switch games. The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ got things going earlier this year. Then Nicalis followed up with Cave Story+ in June.

In the months ahead, Nicalis is planning a number of new Switch games. The End is Nigh and Blade Strangers should be getting physical releases since both boxarts have already been posted. It also looks like Ittle Dew 2+ and Tiny Barbarian DX are receiving the same treatment, based on Amazon listings.

Ittle Dew+ and Tiny Barbarian DX, along with Blade Strangers, can be pre-ordered on Amazon here.
