Update: Despite Best Buy’s original listing, the figure is actually created by First 4 Figures. The listing (as well as our post) has now been updated to reflect this. Best Buy’s page also now shows a release date of early March rather than March 20.

Original: Dark Horse will soon be coming out with a special Link figurine that was created based on his appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s 11 inches high, and features a sculpted base.

The figurine won’t be ready for Breath of the Wild’s launch, though it won’t be too long before it’s out. Best Buy, which is taking pre-orders, has it down for March 20.

We’ve included a few photos of the figure below.

Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa participated in interviews with both 4Gamer and Famitsu. In talking with both sites, he discussed Disgaea 5 Complete and Switch development.

First, on 4Gamer, Niikawa touched on porting from PS4 to Switch. Regarding that, he said the difficulty varies depending on how each studio approaches development. It was relatively smooth for Disgaea. There was nothing NIS had to downgrade, and he noted that even in portable mode, the experience still remain same as PS4 version.

Walmart has been taking in-store pre-orders for Switch following the console’s unveiling last week, but that’s about to change. An internal notice from the retailer indicates that reservations will close on Monday.

Walmart was actually supposed to end pre-orders a bit earlier than Monday. However, “amazing sales” prompted them to remain open slightly longer.

The huge Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 was only just hosted last week, but Nintendo continued to deliver big news a few days ago. On Wednesday, the company held its new Fire Emblem Direct.

There were quite a few announcements, and some surprises along the way. Nintendo kicked things off by revealing Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for 3DS, a re-imagining of Fire Emblem Gaiden. Next was the confirmation of a brand new Fire Emblem heading to Switch in 2018, followed by a bit of gameplay from Fire Emblem Warriors – plus the announcement of a New 3DS version. Finally, we got a lengthy look at the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes.

What do you guys make of the Fire Emblem Direct? Were you surprised to see another Fire Emblem game for 3DS? Do you intend to try out Fire Emblem Heroes when it launches on February 2? Let us know how you feel in the comments below!

Highlights from last week’s topic: Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 reactions

Fire Emblem 0 is the ongoing trading card game for Fire Emblem in Japan. Series 9 was announced back in November, but a new tidbit was shared this week.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, which Nintendo just announced for 3DS, will be included in the new Fire Emblem 0 series. A sample card was shared on the official Twitter account, which we have below.

Fans can look forward to more information about Fire Emblem 0 series 9 during a live stream event on February 11.

Dragon Quest Heroes I-II will be at the launch of Switch in Japan. Two games are included in the package, which in itself is a pretty good deal. On top of that though, Square Enix is introducing new content and making improvements. The company shared more details during the Nintendo Switch Experience 2017 last week.

First, HD Rumble is being implemented. You will feel vibration from the Joy-Con when slashing enemies, and it differs for each monster. If you slash a Slime for example, it gives off something like a jelly feeling, and if you slash a Golem, a rough / hard vibration will be felt. Also, while you are slashing a bunch of enemies, you’ll be able to notice that a Metal Slime is hidden somewhere in the crowd.

Update 3 (1/21): Both games are now up for pre-order on GameStop.

Update 2: Bumped to the top. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is showing in stock again.

Update: Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is currently “sold out”. We’ll let you know if that changes.

Original (1/18): Amazon is now taking pre-orders for two new Fire Emblem games. First, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia can be reserved here. Additionally, you can reserve Fire Emblem Warriors on New 3DS right here (the Switch version is here in case you missed it).

Nintendo has announced five characters for Arms so far. Players will be able to control Springman, Ribbon Girl, Master Mummy, Mechanica, or Ninjara.

During a stage show for Arms at the Nintendo Switch Experience 2017 in Japan last week, Kosuke Yabuki confirmed that there are more characters than are currently announced. It’s worth noting that Yabuki had been working on the Mario Kart series – with some other games sprinkled in – for ten years before becoming the producer of the Switch title.

There wasn’t a ton of other information shared at the event, but there were a few small tidbits. For example, some stages will have destructible objects. Also mentioned is that special attacks can be guarded, so you have to carefully use it. And the special gauge fills when you punch or get it.

Ultimately the big takeaway is that, yes, more characters are coming for Arms. It’ll be very interesting to see what the designs are like…

More:

We have one more piece of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe news to share. Coming from Nintendo of Poland just like the art for Battle Mode, the game will feature support for the Inkling amiibo. You’ll be able to unlock a new racer outfit with the figure. Of course, outfits from Wii U are back as well.
