Japan received its regular 3DS theme update yesterday, but a few more have launched today as well. These include a Mario Hanafuda theme and three for Devil Survivor. Videos for each can be found below.

As promised, a new Event Course can be played in Super Mario Maker. Nintendo just added in the Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam level a few minutes ago.

Here’s an overview:

“Mario and Paper Mario have teamed up! (Oh yeah, and Luigi too.) Is any foe capable of withstanding their combined powers?! Thus begins the quirky, fun-filled story of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, and now you can play as that unbeatable trio right here in Super Mario Maker too!”

After completing the course, you’ll be rewarded with the Mario Trio costume. It’s shown in the video below.

Indivisible, a new RPG from Lab Zero, has been making big waves as of late. The project just secured funding over on Indiegogo having raised $1.6 million.

We unfortunately won’t be seeing Indivisible on Wii U, but it could end up on another system. The game’s Twitter account has said that an NX version will be considered when more information about it has been shared by Nintendo.

Here’s the tweet:

Although the Kickstarter for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero met its goal and the campaign went well, some content included in stretch goals (such as more chapters) wasn’t funded. Might we see this in the form of DLC? Developer WayForward isn’t ruling out the possibility.

In an interview with The Mary Sue, the studio’s Matt Bozon stated:

“If we sold a lot of copies, and there was a lot of clamor for more DLC, that’s a possibility. The game lends itself to a lot of expansion if that’s what fans want! There will already be a ton of content with all of the stretch goal that were reached… costumes, extra characters, and Risky Boots Mode! There’s a ton of game there, but there’s always room for more!”

And of course, the interview wouldn’t be complete without a question about Smash Bros. and the chances of Shantae appearing. Here’s what Bozon had to say on that front:

“I’m really excited about Shantae being a possibility for Smash! How cool would that be? Amazing, right? I think stylistically she’d be a good fit, being something that exists somewhere between Mega Man and Peach. I’d hope she could recover in Harpy form, or maybe pull off some incredible dance and transformation for her Final Smash! I would love to see this happen, and if not now, then some time in the future!”

The Nintendo Account system saw its initial debut in Japan this week. As for the rest of the world, it looks like we’ll need to wait until next year.

Nintendo is saying that Nintendo Accounts won’t be ready for Europe, Australia, and New Zealand until March. That likely applies to North America as well. As for the Japanese rollout, Nintendo said in a statement:

“This preliminary launch represents a limited selection of the full functionality that Nintendo will eventually offer. This preliminary Nintendo Account launch is focused on bringing off-device purchase functionality to the Japanese market.”
